Forums - Nintendo - Capcom Wants Their Nintendo Switch Titles To Feel Different Than PS4/XB1 Games

" During the latest financial briefing, Capcom’s CEO Kenzo Tsujimoto has touched upon the company’s Nintendo Switch support. During the Q&A session, Tsujimoto stated that multiplatform development will be possible for the new Nintendo console, but that’s not what Capcom would like to do, as they seek to offer something that will differ from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One titles. Tsujimoto also added that the company is currently in an internal review phase regarding content and features that might be offered in Switch titles, so there are no additional details on the matter as of now."

Hmm, does that mean more games like Zack & Wiki? if so, I don't really mind.

So more handheld orientated titles I assume. Which makes sense.

It makes sense. I think third parties should adapt their software output to the console fanbase and the hardware itself.

Sounds good to me! If I wanted the same games that are released on other platforms I'd probably have a PS4/One already anyways.

Yes, yes, yes! That's exactly what I want.

I don't care about getting multiplats on Switch. I want something I can't already get on XOne and PS4.

And Zack & Wiki 2 would be a dream come true.

Then why didn't they ever develop for the Wii U? All that system got was two ports from them.

As long as we get constant support, go ahead.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

All it means is that Switch is too weak to handle their regular games and they have to make Switch themed games that can work on it. Its a bad thing. Its not playing to the strengths of 3rd parties who want easy ports. This is a discouraging sign. It means that eventually Switch will be abandoned like Wii U was.

So they want to continue with low-budget games on Nintendo Switch like they did with 3DS.

This concerns me as it means they will not even try to have parity with the other consoles, which means other developers will most likely do the same thing. So we are going to have the same type of 3rd party support that Wii and Wii U had which typically means none of the main AAA titles, just random other lower budget games. While I personally only buy my Nintendo's for their unique experiences, a lot of other gamers do not.

This is just my personal take on it, and it makes sense for the developers since it will not be nearly as powerful. Hopefully I am just being too cautious.
