I'd wanna give my gf a Wii U for Christmas, but it seems to be sticking at its current price so I may end up just not getting one. I might get her a PS4 or X1 instead. But Jesus, its too expensive for what it is

If you hate her that much why are you with her

Well she wants one for Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, and Breath of the Wild XD she's a big Zelda fan

Supposedly it'll be $250 at some retailers on Black Friday. Though that's a retailer sponsored price cut to help clear out inventory, it's not an ofifical price set by Nintendo afaik.

Well I mean, yeah, I could get it at that price. But I don't think it should cost more than my PS4 cost me last Black Friday ($200). Especially with how picky she is. I may just wait till I hear the Switch's price

Neo Geo dude.

That's way too high. Has been for a while. Especially now, with things as they are. I bet only a handful of units will sell between now and when the bombs start dropping on the night of the U.S. election.

Hasn't even had a single price cut here in Aus, in fact seeing as they stopped selling the cheaper model it technically got more expensive to pick up a WiiU as the years went on

I guess 3DO was also more expensive

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

So, Wii U still costs $300 officially, a price it has held for 3 years now (since September 2013). Meanwhile, rumor has it that Wii U production is ending soon (a rumor which Nintendo denies) and so far it's looking like Nintendo won't be marketing Wii U much or at all this Holiday.

So, the question I pose to you is, will $300 be the final official price for Wii U? If so, Wii U will hold the record for highest official final price if I'm not mistaken. Here are the final official prices for some other consoles:

Xbox 360- $200 (4GB E model)
PS3- $200 (12 GB Super Slim model)
Wii- $100 (Mini model), $200 (regular model)
Xbox- $150
Gamecube- $100
PS2- $100
Dreamcast- $50
N64- $100
PS1- $50
Saturn- $200

Wii u costs 300$ since its release... Do you remember the white 8gb version? They phased it out it in 2013 and black  wii u 32gb version cost fell to the cost of the discontinued 8gb version...  ( 350->300 ) An alleged wii u price drop... lol

Yes, because Nintendo knows that the console would still sell horrible with a price-cut so they try to make as much money as possible with it.

It's like Nintendo doesn't even care about selling Wii Us.

I mean come on, 300$? That's insane.
