So Vgchartz don't fact check their stuff apparently because they post rumors as reports.

Nintendo denies stopping Wii U production. Heck the whole decision to stop this friday would have been insanely strange because then they wouldn't have anything until the Switch would come and Wii's where still produced almost 2 years after the Wii U came out.

Wii u forecast for the entire year is just 800k, basically the last of the stock, plus it was overshipped since the beggining. And considering all the lies that Nintendo has told the entire gen, believing them is the only mistake.

So it lived just 3 years and 11 months. That's... not long.

I'm not sure if Wii is fully discontinued yet, Wikipedia's not really clear, mentioning only the discontinuation of the original worldwide and the "Family Edition" in Europe, but not mentioning Wii Mini. Anyway WiiU's a flop in every way you look at it, sales, impact, mediocre library with only a handful of titles that were worth it and now longevity. Dreamcast may have only sold a little over 9m, but at least with it reaching the number in 1.5-2 years it actually sold faster. And it was actually a good system, but that's beside the point. I'll hold judgement on a Vita comparison until Sony releases some concrete numbers.

Unless Nintendo can find some untapped market like they did with the Wii, then I predict that the Switch will sell even less than the Wii U

What's your estimation, here?

Assuming the gimmick, per se, of a "hybrid console" doesn't catch on and people just treat it like a "normal" console most of the time: 10 million. Like I said, Nintendo has been declining since they entered the home console market, and it took waggle to make the Wii a hit.

If taking out the tablet and using it as a mobile device becomes popular, then who knows. But the idea of tablet gaming for a home console aka the Wii U, didn't go so well. So I'm not holding my breath.

Breath of the wild is coming still for Wii U right? cuz i dont wanna buy a switch right away.

This news headline comes out every other week. Does anyone even care?

It's funny, but my wii u will continue to see heavy usage from me aslong as the web browser works. xD

I just find it sad that Nintendo couldn't realise that the best use for the gamepad was an online world where you can type without a keyboard. Well... at least in japan they had Dragon quest X online.
