Well, "most" isn't "all" in any case, and when there are people like me who have not experienced this type of phenomenon through videos or casual conversation with people interested in games, then the reality probably lies somewhere between the two of our experiences.

I personally don't think Sony has accomplished much else than increasing the options for people who were already considering Sony, and more options are always nice.

They're continuing what they already had while adding second PS4 purchasers to the list. Suggesting they're only giving people an option who were already considering buying a PS4 is something of a stretch to say the least. In the internet world, that may be the case, but in the real world it aint.

In the internet world, the PS4 would have came out on top in the last several NPDs, but that didn't ring true for the real world.

the Xb1 500GB Battlefield 1 Bundle deal was sould out in less than 2 hours.
no wonder Ps4 Slim is ahead now.
Hope there will be a new Xb1 deal for black friady. I sadly misst the deal

Well clearly something changed in the last few months and hopefully it's not permanent. Up until then, if you used the Amazon threads properly you could predict the outcome of the NPD. We'll see, but right now I'm assuming it was just an anomoly brought about by exclusive bricks and mortar deals and Amazon tracking. If that tracking doesn't return to normal (and Nov isn't going to show us that because of the Pro preorders) then I won't be bothering to update any more. There wouldn't be a point in my opinion.

Sorry folks.

Sorry folks.

The updates only become useless if they're used as the sole indicator of trends and sales. There are so many other factors to consider though, Amazon can't be the only thing that shows us the general direction of the market. Using what we see on Amazon and coupling it with more data gives us a better picture of how things are going though, and probably a more accurate view than just using Amazon alone.

I am talking about the Bundle including Skyrim for $249
That deal is sold out now and costs $289 or $40 more
You just linked to the regular BF1 Bundle. $50 off all Xbox One Bundles is permanent for the whole weekend

The thing is though, it WAS. We've often brought in external reports but they only ever 'verified' the findings in the Amazon threads. It's only in the last few months that things have shifted. If it was just the bricks and mortar deals and people feeling more comfortable taking their consoles in to exchange them instead of shipping them off to online retailers, then I'll continue because I know the exchange market will eventually run dry, BUT if it turns out Amazon has changed the way they do the charts, I don't see the point in continuing with Amazon threads.

Just because it 'was' doesn't mean it was ever a smart idea to do so. Whether you continue or not is ultimately up to you though, I'm sure someone else would step in if you decided to retire from it.

I'm having problems with that sentence but can at least draw from it a modicum of sense. it WAS smart because it was right but now something's changed, yes, the 'was' is the important word there. Dec will be the decider for me because Nov will be skewed heavily by the Pro preorders.
