Crock of shit. There was that thing from Macronix that clearly showed 32GB carts.

That's absolutely not true. These will absolutely be 32GB and likely 64GB options (or more). Nintendo is not going to outright be lower than Bluray capacity. Hell, some of their own games were larger than 16GB on WiiU (which used blurays).
Yeah, I don't believe this rumor either. Limiting the game cards to 16gb would basically cut off their 3rd-party support more effectively than on Wii U, since the majority of games these days take up well over 25gb of data.

Besides, the tweet in the article says that 16GB is the standard cartridge size, not maximum.

One of the worst examples of "journalism" that I have ever seen. Wow. Completely incorrect information. sheesh
Hi
Yeah click bait. Damn you troll you got us
Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

It says "Looks like standard capacity of Switch game card at least when console launched would be around 16"
It just means that most games will use only 16GB cards. Not that it will be the ONLY size available.
Rumors says that the cartridges will come in three sizes : 16, 32 and 64 GB.
| bonzobanana said: This is hardly surprising even if 16GB is the maximum capacity... Cartridge games cost more to make so you can expect so will always be heavily compressed This is what I would call completely unrealistic expectations if people were expecting huge capacity cartridges. |
Uh... No. The article title is proven false by the tweet it is based on. 16Gb is NOT the 'maximum' capacity.
I don't know why people think Nintendo themself will set a 'maximum' capacity. They provide a card interface.
Like SD cards, how much capacity that provides is up to the tech used in the card, and budget for the card.
Depending on how flash memory prices drop, we could be seeing 64, 128GB cards.
Or not... But there is no reason Nintendo would now be setting a technical limitation to prevent that.
16 GB as the "standard" or most common size seems reasonable.
Nintendo needing to reduce the quality (vs Wii U) of assets in Zelda in order to fit on Switch cartridge does not.
BTW, Anybody remember when being a journalist required basic literacy?
