That's really depressing.

Why? This is a self-inflicted wound. Capcom chose for this. Let's hope they'll learn from it before they go under or something.

Does Capcom still have finantial problems like they had at the beginning of the gen? All those MH versions should have given them cash, but you never know.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Thats what happens when a game has a shit beta

I remember when the first Beta didn't work at all, and they just cancelled it.

I was like "well this doesn't look good", and tons of people on the internet just tried to slit my throat "you're a dumbass, a beta can't go wrong, that's why it's a beta, you are so ENTITLED" you know the kind.

Who's laughing now?

Deservedly so.

Judging Street Fighter V before its first Christmas is preposterous.

SSFV/Ultra/etc need to happen.

But, the reason why it failed to be as popular as it's predecessor is because it was half the game it's predecessor was. Quite honestly, the game is still bare bones. Except now it has cinematic mode and 6 more characters. It needed alot more. Capcom thought they could just do a few characters, stages and online and they woud be fine. Wrong!

Also, i think someone oversold Killer instinct to them. The only reason tat worked was because it was a low budget game to begin with. It was also free to start.

So, they can try to go with free. But, they should go back to what works. Make SSFV. Make an arcade mode with ending cinematics. Add at least another 6 chars and some stages. Add some new single player modes (look at guilty gear). A tag team mode would also be good. Add an omega mode. Profit!

Also, lets have advertisement reflect the story and characters. People need a reason to care.

I bought SFV, a $60 York controller, and finally subscribed to PlayStation Plus. That's a huge financial commitment for one game. I didn't want to buy it in its initial form but I didn't want to suck when it finally "got good". After a few days, I said "Fuck SFV" and bought Ultra Street Fighter IV again.

At this point, neither game is on my console's HDD anymore. I forgot i even had them. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to edit my "disappointments of 2016" comment.

That's really a shame, Street Fighter V deserves much better. :/

Deserved to flop, not only for the incredibly lazy lack of content, but also because they refused to put Poison as a fighter.

Sorry, but unless they redeem themselves with SFVI, if it ever happens, I just hope Capcom is done with this franchise for good. There are plenty of alternatives to it.

I've been playing SF since 1991 and it pains me to see the franchise in this condition.

You could always go and buy tons of copies, like you did with Tomb Raider!
