Reviewers are anti-consumer too *shug*
If you want someone to look out for you do it yourself, don't depend on anyone

Ill just wait a week after release then...or just wait a month and get it even cheaper.

Bethesda has decided to not send out early code for review for all future games. I think they're sending it out one day ahead, which likely means reviewers be getting the same copy as consumers. Gaming media is going rage-mode. |
So youtubers will have to buy their own copies now and play them at the same time as everyone else? Damn, that's so unfair.
I guess it means reviews for games will be a bit later than normal, but as other people have said here, a lot of companies are now offering refund policies where games are just broken or not as advertised as we seen with NMS recently, I'm fine with this as long as it is all reviewers and not just giving copies to reviewers who generally give them higher scores if you get me.

Review or ad, it's all part of marketing. I hate the influence of youtubers in this modern generation, as if it wasn't enough with the corrupted online magazines and so called gaming journalists. Bethesda did an awesome thing. Now I hope they have the guts to stand up against this flaming campaign. |
Your third paragraph here is so much on the money it hurts, the majority of people who are suggesting they are the same type of gamer as their viewers no longer work full time jobs because of the revenue they get for crying about things like this on youtube, and not only are they not working, but they are very comfortably not working and earning more than your average joe.

its really not that complicated if you would watch the video for the first 30 secs, they simple refuse to give out review copies to profasional reviewers like Gamespot meaning they have to test the game at the day when it is released. And we know how buggy Bethesda games are

completley agree with this guy, bethesda really has become such a trash company latley. Its not worth buying their games full price

And how many pre-release reviews bashed the game for bugs? They didn't ever really have the time to discover lots of bugs.
The corruption in that system just stank, and indirectly damaged independent reviewers not participating.
(in that the reviewers participating had advantage of early exclusive time window to build up views/rating)
Honestly, I am guessing that Bethesda decided they are good enough they don't need the advantage of hand-picked reviews,
and were getting sick of both dealing with hordes of youtubers jostling to get in on the game,
and dealing with some youtube/media "personalities" who might have been trying to push for an even better deal.

Just want to point out that not every member of the media is unworthy of trust. The staff on this site work their butts off to inform consumers about games before they make an irreversible financial commitment.
Ultimately, it's up to each individual to decide whether to pre-order or buy games day one, but the fourth estate should play an important part of this equation. Bethesda cutting off the gaming press ahead of launch in no way is a good thing. It means less information, fewer opinions.
These same "journalists" completely failed to alert consumers about the atrocious memory leak problems of Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Skyrim, so who cares? If you want to find out something about a video game you'll have to take the plunge yourself or rely on early adopters because the gaming media is and pretty much always has been a sad joke.
