This is only because of Halo's massive decline.
I with that companies could be more open about their software sales

I think that Splatoon is also ahead of Uncharted 4 and Halo 5. Installbase isn't everything, Halo is Microsoft's biggest IP and should sell like one.
Microsoft needs to make more Ips. We still don't have anything, new IP, like we had last gen from Sony and Microsoft,Uncharted and Gears.

It's ONLY because of Halo's massive decline? Not in addition of the merits of Uncharted 4? Hmmm....

That puts the cliché excuse you used to shame, and illustrates that install base size isn't the be all end all of a game sales.

Yeah I get you, it's not about install base when you are planning the sales to include the system. Also seems that a lot of people traded their copies in if you look at a place like CEX here you can find Halo 5 for €15, but something which launched earlier than it in The Master Chief collection holds value at €20 preowned just because I guess people are more likely to retain the game with the bigger amount of campaign to go back to rather than just hold onto 5 for its campaign/multiplayer. https://ie.webuy.com/product.php?sku=885370929522 https://ie.webuy.com/product.php?sku=885370863932 People selling your game to these shops soon after launch really hurts more new sales since you just get the launch copies of it floating around and fulfilling peoples desire to buy and play the game. |
That's a little sad that a collection holds more value on used market, but not only it have more content but probably have a higher place on gamers hearts and minds. Besides if it sold more, there would be more used copies and therefore probably lower price.

Unless it's needed later on a different thread.

Comparing the sales of Halo 3 and Halo 5 would be more apt actually. In the US, the XB1 was ahead of the 360 when Halo 5 and Halo 3 released for the respective consoles. However, Halo 5 managed to only sell 1/3 of what Halo 3 sold first month even though the XB1's American userbase was ahead.
Halo 5 sold 5 million copies in the first 3 months of its launch...It's likely sold well over 6 million by now.

Doesn't VGC not track digital sales or something? XBO gamers buy digital for most games.
