Forums - Nintendo - Lets get real about the most likely scenario with NS.

9. There could be a "secret fan" inside the dock which could help a lot if it channels more air thru the Switch main system. Having the Switch docked there is only ONE constrain to archive to full potential of the CPU/GPU combo: heat...

Nah. Switch is a brilliant name, the third party games will be there and run good enuff, and Switch will outsell both Scorpio and PS4 Pro worldwide.

3: Switch is a bad name. Like, REALLY BAD. People are pretty much just calling it NS, which doesn't roll off the tongue either. This point in the overall scheme of things matters little to none though.

Francis calls it, NinTablet.

CPU: Ryzen 9950X3D
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5 PRO

If EA could sell 5-10 Mio. copies of each of their sports titles each year for Switch they will support it until its end. No doubts about that. And if EA starts providing Switch sports titles Switch will rocket launch like no other gaming device seen before...

True, but how much will that boost overall performance? I'd imagine not much.

Yes the docking station is a Fan (cooling the tablet when docked) + chargeing of tablet, and cables to hook up to the tv.

I dont think there is any extra chips inside it, or a hard disk drive.

The NX probably has Air vents at the bottom of it too (where air enters) and then its blown out the top (where we know it has air vents)

If there's one thing that needs to happen with the Switch is that Nintendo needs to focus software output solely on that platform once it's out.

That and gamepad backwards-compatibility... Got my fingers crossed on that.

Dang, right on. Even in portable mode you think they will be good enough? Docked I agree though, third  party games will be fine.Beyond that it's kind of a hard sell. I think the first few games where Digital Foundry shits all over the NS ports and people will be skeptical to get a NS for those games to.

Laptops usually have a "low power" mode when you pull out the cable.

And a "Max power" mode, when plugged into the wall.

The differnces can be quit big.... like its 1/4th the power when mobile, and then plugged in its suddenly running 4 times as fast.

Same thing is going to happend with the Switch.

To compensate for how much less power it has, when its not docked, it ll run the games at a much lower resolution.

That way you can still play the same game, at decent frame rates, with less power.

Bussiness as usual.

Nintendo users are used it by now, and dont expect full 3rd party support anymore.

Basides it makes sense when its a tablet, that when docked has 1/3rd the power of the PS4/XB1.

It ll still have some 3rd party support, but the main draw of the system is the stuff Nintendo already has with 3DS+Wii U.
