Lets get real about the most likely scenario with NS.

True, but how much will that boost overall performance? I'd imagine not much. 

Laptops usually have a "low power" mode when you pull out the cable.

And a "Max power" mode, when plugged into the wall.

 

The differnces can be quit big.... like its 1/4th the power when mobile, and then plugged in its suddenly running 4 times as fast.

Same thing is going to happend with the Switch.

To compensate for how much less power it has, when its not docked, it ll run the games at a much lower resolution.

That way you can still play the same game, at decent frame rates, with less power.
