This reveal was so messy. It made the Wii u efectively look like another controller for the Wii.

I think this is kind of semantics.

If it can be played outside the house and has an LCD display on it ... to me personally that is a portable console. Some people may term that a "home console with portbale functionality". 

It's basically all the same thing.
