Will worldwide atheism ever happen?

No, faith is part of being human. 79 49.07%

Yes, soon enough all men will be atheists. 82 50.93%

Total:161

Believe it or not there is a very strong christian church from NORTH korea where I live. It survived decades of religious ban and persecution and is now gathering more affiliates around the world and people really like them, they truly did go through a lot and it shows. I believe its written in the Bible itself, the more you persecute christians the strong is their faith, so I voted yes, I believe christianity will exist until the end, wheter it's the strong faith that converted the romans or weak as it is today, it will always be between these.

I'm going to try to approach this differently.

I don't think it was your intention to label all atheists as militant. However, you offered a rather one-sided assessment of atheism. A lot of atheists like myself believe that people should believe or not believe whatever they want, just as long as they don't impose their beliefs on other people without their consent. Another principle atheists adhere to is separation between church and state. Governments should not make laws based on religious doctrine since the doctrines do not hold up to the scientific method or adequate enough to fulfil the burden of proof. This is why theocracies don't do as well as secular governments.

So, feel free to express whatever faith you like. A lot of people don't mind that or even give a fuck, really. It is when religious authoritarianism comes in where atheists and people of other faiths will have a problem.

Atheists already killed whatever version of God you can come up with. It's a matter of time and atheism is increasing. Why atheism is increasing are the black sheeps of monotheism.

If Craig, Sye, Ham and others are the best apologists you can find, then you've already lost.

Militant atheists are also big idiots. I don't like their way of going for atheism like Richard Dawking or the amazing atheist does.

You can't kill Zeus, Poseidon, or Athena, either. But here we are.

You can if you are Kratos.

This seems like it will go really well, tagging for future inspection.

It won't happen Religion is very important and powerful, we have over 3-4 + billions of Muslim and Christian people. Someone that doesn't has a relegion and someone that is atheist are completely different things.

Do I need to remember how powerful the relegious parties are or how a lot of countries were colonized in the name of a religion ?

How will something that, in this century is 2-10% of the population take over the other % ?

Lets take Nigeria as an example. 93-94% of the people has a religion, They are 170 millions now, but will be 400+ millions in 30 years.

The countries that have a bigger birth rate are also have more religious people. For some countries it is a part of their culture.

Here is some predictions about the % of religions of the world for the next 35 years.

I think people might be become less religious or less practicing, but I don't think religion will be completely wiped out.

Humans look for leaders and role models, it's just the way we are. We find role models in a PM, President, monarchy, celebrity, scholar etc

Religion offers this and as well as community, security, belonging and stability.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm simply stating that it works for some many people.

Atheism is growing, and I think it will continue to grow. However, we have to remember three things happen:

1) people leave one religion for another
2) people leave religion
3) people go from atheism to religion

However, looking at some of the comments on here, it would be silly to think that one winning over the other would make the world a better place. There are crazy people out there and if there is no religion, they will commit acts or violence under the name of something else.

Violence and crazy predates religion and the common denominator is humans not culture or religion.

It is always interesting to see those kind of things. I hope that there won't be any hate in this thread.

1/3rd of the world already is.

"According to the latest international survey data, as reported by Ariela Keysar and Juhem Navarro-Rivera in the recently published Oxford Handbook of Atheism, there are approximately 450-500 million non-believers in God worldwide, which amounts to about 7% of the global adult population. And according to the Pew Research Center, if we broaden the category to include all non-religious people in general — those unaffiliated adults who do not identify with any religion — we’re talking 1.1 billion people, which equals about 16.5% of the global adult population. As such, “non-religious” is actually the third largest “religion” in the world, coming only behind Christianity (in first place) and Islam (in second). Thus, there are more secular men and women on planet earth — many of whom are atheists and agnostics — than there are Hindus, Buddhists, Mormons, Sikhs, Jains, or Jews."

Non-religious isn't atheist because they do believe in the existence of a God but they don't have any religion.

Well the 2 major religions (Christianity and Islam) already disagree with you because according to them, religion and the belief in God will be almost entirely diminished. This will mark the end of the world and Jesus Christ will be brought back to fight in the Great War before the Day of Judgement.

So, according to both religion and current trends in society, religion will fade away.

The christian Holy Bible says that in the end of times the whole world will worship the Beast, part of a unholy trinity and the demonic worlwide religion will force people to have a mark to buy and sell, and they will behead people that refuse to worship the beast. So, no atheism what so ever, but a worldwide demonic teocracy.

Islam says the whole world will submit and worship Alah, and them that refuse to do so will be killed. So, not atheism whatsoever.

That is entirely false. Islam believes the Djjal (false messiah/Anti-Christ, one-eyed man) will lead all of the believers astray and will cause the numbers of Muslims and believers in God to diminish almost entirely. This is when Jesus Christ will be brought back and will defeat the Djjal which is one of the major signs leading to the day of judgement. Not sure where you got your explanation from.

You are correct that it does not suggest Atheism, but both examples show that the belief in God will be finished. Your statement of "World Atheism will never happen" is true, but your statement of "Why you can not kill God" is false.
