Will worldwide atheism ever happen?

No, faith is part of being human. 79 49.07%

Yes, soon enough all men will be atheists. 82 50.93%

Total:161

It will happen eventually its just going to take a bit longer then killing the ancient Greek, Roman, Norse and Egyptian gods since less people believed in those and none of those gods ever gained a global following.

There will always be some people who will have enough sense to understand that nothing comes from nothing

And yet you claim your god came from nothing.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

There will always be people who want the security of religion, that's true. Fearful of death? Not if you worship X. Puzzled by moral choices? Worship Y and you can just follow directives without thinking about them too much.

Now, I'm not saying this fits everyone who belongs to a religion but I have no doubt it applies to many. It's absolutely no secret that a lot of people "find religion" when they are most psychologically vulnerable.

Some prefer the security of the cage.

Not to mention the need for hope in a hopeless world, one that becomes more and more hopeless with the increase in atheistic naturalism.

And thankfully those people will continue to exist, because they are the salt and light of the world.

Everyone wants to be a bad-ass, but nobody realizes that if everyone becomes a bad-ass, the world just becomes a miserable place to live in.

LOL, you don't have to be bad-ass to be atheist you just have to be logical.

You can't kill Zeus, Poseidon, or Athena, either. But here we are.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard: Dr. Barron, I cannot, I *will not* impose a set of commandments on these people. To do so violates the very essence of the Prime Directive!

Dr. Barron: Like it or not, we have rekindled the Mintakans' belief in the Overseer.

Commander William T. Riker: And are you saying that this belief will eventually become a religion?

Dr. Barron: It's inevitable. And without guidance, that religion could degenerate into inquisitions, holy wars, chaos.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard: Horrifying. Dr. Barron, your report describes how rational these people are. Millennia ago, they abandoned their belief in the supernatural. Now you are asking me to sabotage that achievement, to send them back into the dark ages of superstition and ignorance and fear? NO!

The Bible pretty much says it will happen.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

It's unfortunate that the good of mankind itself isn't enough for you to have hope. There's good all around you, you just chalk it up to a deity rather than the true creators of it - mankind. This of course, is ironic considering that mankind created the concept of a deity in the first place. The very thing that comforts you and gives you hope was created by the ancestors of the very people you feel are so miserable, so bleak, that you need the hope and comfort the concept of a deity gives you to escape it.

It's really too bad you have such little respect for your fellow man that you feel you need what amounts to a comfort blanket to make it through the reality of life that becomes clearer each and every day. Kids come to terms with reality and eventually leave the comfort blanket behind. Perhaps you should too.

You are definitely living proof why religion of any kind will never die. Religion will only die together with humanity because only then we will have wiped out all ignorance.

Well the 2 major religions (Christianity and Islam) already disagree with you because according to them, religion and the belief in God will be almost entirely diminished. This will mark the end of the world and Jesus Christ will be brought back to fight in the Great War before the Day of Judgement.

So, according to both religion and current trends in society, religion will fade away.

While wiping out all religion is a noble goal it will not be necessary to improve our future lives. We just have to suppress it enough so it won't affect our lives negatively anymore.
