Great achievement, congrats to MS, they're still very relevant on home.

Those 47 Buyers in Japan would like to disagree with you!

That's cool for the X1S though, if you see videos like the Digital Foundry ep on the Rise of the Tomb Raider running on the PS4 it includes a portion comparing the X1S version to the original X1 and really the S model tidies up a lot of the torn and dropped frames that the original X1 had (it still misses some shadows in areas's) but it is actually a nice little upgrade over the original X1 in terms of a smooth gameplay experience.

Digital Foundry Vid time stamped to the area I mean

It's actually more than just shadows. Cutscenes on PS4 version run in 1080p, it has higher quality ambient occlusion, very high settings for screenspace reflections and better performance compared to Xbox One without having to upgrade to Slim. But it's still pretty good on X1/X1S obviously.

Aye over the course of that full video DF shows a fair few other changes in areas that the X1 version of the game goes for a different approach to delivering the game to the player, but just in terms of Framerate the X1S sure does a whole better attempt at handling the game over the original model of the system. The weird jaggies on the X1 version compared to the PS4/PC would be a bit offputting but the stable framerate is a good sign that the Slim model did get a bit of a increase to performance.

When did people start putting that much faith in Amazon rankings? Back in the day anyone bringing up Amazon as a sales reference was shamed and baby seal were clubbed.

When they were right 100%. This is the first time they're wrong.

So it's time to start doubting them?

Not at all, no. There were clearly circumstances we were not fully aware of and so therefore couldn't compensate. MS will eventually run out of OG XB1s.

It's not the first time.

And it's mostly people looking the charts the wrong way. The higher they are in the charts the best . At mid twents they are close to call. Anything out of the top 50 is basicaly noise.

Also the inner works of the rank is a mistery. A sold out product could rank high for hours, after just a short boost.

This makes perfect sense to me. Gamestop had 229 bundles and Pro is right around the corner. A gamestop employee told me that most of the S model sales were subsidized through trade in. What is the point of trading in your PS4 in September with a 399 or 499 VR unit coming in October that works on your current system and Pro releasing in November. That doesn't sound financially responsible to most folks especially with VR in the picture now. I will get the pro in November.

Also as a side note RIGS had a 71% sellout rate at Gamestop on launch with the PSVR eclipsing that. I'm convinced that the Slim and Xbox One were neck and neck. October should still go to PS4 and obviously in November Pro will destroy the competition. Also, PSVR will be the number one piece of hardware sold in October obviously.

Xbox should continue it's streak with October as people hold off for the pro and gears release. Logic says a Sony win in November but I can see a ridiculous price for the XB1 OG to clear remaining stock on Black Friday making it closer then people expect.

It must really hurt Microsofts profit margins having to sell off so many consoles at heavily discounted prices.

I think that it is because the Xbox One was out of stock on Amazon.

I still use baby seals in mind, because it is funny how many people put importance on Amazon Ranking to win for their consoles.
