Trump can not get away with the stuff he said and did back in the good old days pre-9/11. The world has changed for the worse since 9/11 and the political correctness nonsense has poisoned society. |
Since when did the term "political correctness" become a stain on society. Isn't being something in a correct and accepted matter good for society?
Imagine if everyone said the n-word out in public. Sure, it's not illegal (unless you are at a workplace or possibly other places, because your rights end where someone else's begins), but the tenants of political correctness, human rights legislation, and time have dictated that we need to evolve as a society and be more inclusive if we expect to be a successful country with the diverse population we currently have. Thus, despite the use of divisive and hateful speech being pretty legal (covered by the freedom of speech unless in a workplace, again), society's affect to these things won't allow them to continually exist the way it did in the old times. That isn't brainwashing...that's progress.
Same with women's rights, same with gays, same with any other protected class, though the changes are all happening at different rates. People may get in a fuss and blame liberals and pc media, but that's the equivalent of people moaning about desegragation back when it was happening. Sorry, but society is moving forward and if you want to be on the train, you're going to have to learn to play nice with all the others and not inhibit that evolution. Doesn't mean you can't think or feel things. Doesn't even mean you can't say them, but if you say them to someone that would naturally be offended by it, then be expected to get a backlash, because last I checked, people don't like being offended. That has nothing to do with a decline in free speech.
Trump clings to old ways and really just doesn't respect his fellow man (as in humankind, because he definitely doesn't have respect for women, either). And if you look in this very board, you can find sources that pretty much show he's not a good person and certainly not fit to be leader of the free world. He's got over a thousand lawsuits against him related to his business practices which include non payment of services or discriminatory practices, he's been brought to court by numerous women for sexual harrassment and heavier crimes including the rape of a 13 year old girl, has made sexist remarks with no shame, has been proven to be a liar time and time again on camera, and he's admitted to bribery of Washington politicians on national television.
But even if you don't care about politcal correctness or Trump's constant history of hate for both racial minorities and women, none of his plans for what his administration would do seem to be good for the country. He wants goverment to have less power, but he wants to put up a 23 billion dollar wall on the border that would potentially displace citizens if the wall runs through their houses and land for really very little payoff because there are such things as airplanes. He also wants to implement outdated practices like stop and frisk as well as unrealistic policies like people born into this country not automatically being a citizen, and making it hard or impossible for Muslim's to get into the country when our country was founded on the freedom of religion. Isn't that making government bigger? People think if the goverment tries to limit the baring of arms (another founding freedom) that government is getting to big. But what about all this stuff the government would be in charge of doing that are pretty much at a citizen's level. That seems like way more government than the conservatives pretend to want. Trump hasn't had any real answers for how he'd get money for all of these programs that don't make sense in the first place, and he believes he can shrink the debt and also lower taxes which isn't really possible. His proposals for the economy are ludicrous. Countless polls and numerous economic experts have debunked his ideas and believe many of them would send our economy into another great depression (not the recession we've come out of under Obama's administration, straight depression) if they were actually carried out. But more than likely, many of them couldn't be because a lof of the things he's proposed simply do not mathmatically function the way he's saying it should, or he's literally proposed things that go against the U.S. Constitution, a document that was created to establish our natural human rights and which had to change to be more inclusive as time past. Meanwhile, he's proposing things that would rollback that progress.
He's spoken about using nukes and taking resources from other countries (quotes, not a conspiracy theory like all the Clinton haters have). The guy looks up to Putin and has been endorsed by and endorsed despots. He's even called for Russia to hack US documents in order to find Clinton's missing emails back during that whole fiasco. He said something along the lines that Russia would be compensated (well, not along the lines, that's what he said on national television, though not verbatim). That's high treason.
He is a threat to any progress we've made so far, both fiscally and socially.
But you think the PC media is ruining society and will dictate the direction that this election takes? Really?!
