To quote John Lennon: well well well :)

The Joker’s identity is revealed. (I’ll post the video later, I don’t know how to on mobile. I just wanted to write it now! Also, I’ll try to find a version that doesn’t spoil it in the title for anyone who didn’t watch it yet… either that, or if I can’t… 24 hours later and everyone should have seen it by then.)

A lot of people had it figured out within 10 minutes of it happening but I loved it either way. Good PPV, even if there was some questionable booking.

EVERYTHING with CM Punk/Moxley confuses me. I do not know what to think about that entire storyline. Does the roster hate punk? Does he hate these people? AEW either is VERY good at blurring the lines or they REALLY gotta get control of a handful of people on the roster.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

Yeah as soon as the Joker stepped into the ring I knew who it was, he walked a certain way so it was kinda obvious. The PPV was good, but a step down from Forbidden Door which was excellent.

Holy hell that media scrum afterwards was something else though. I hope everyone cools off and things get in control because I am interested in what is going to happen in the coming weeks.

I know CM Punk feels he’s a natural heel but also thinks he has to ride out being a baby face because of the “currency” he’s built up with the crowds from his career and returning after an extended absence.

In other words, and he’d hate to hear it (since I know he’s a Bret guy), but he’s like Shawn Michaels when he came back after half a decade. Like Shawn Michaels, he also has a faction of fans who will hate him no matter what, but a majority who like him no matter what.

I'll admit to not being a big fan of CM Punk, so I don't know how to feel about anything he does, but damn that media scrum was crazy. Never seen anything like it before in professional wrestling.

I wasn’t paying much attention to anything except a pro-wrestling group on Facebook, the majority seemed to think he was Bray Wyatt, some were even saying some crazy things like Shane McMahon.

Wow, some people thought it was Bray Wyatt? Physically Bray and The Joker are very different so I'm surprised people would think that. But thinking it was Shane McMahon might just be insane to be honest.

Thanks for the heads up, by the way. I just watched the media scrum. Loved the CM Punk part. Punk went full Jim Cornette in that one, it reminded me of old school King and old school Piper back where people argue to this day if that stuff was genuine or a work, or a work-shoot. Even stuff like Kaufman vs King, where it was more or less admitted to be a work has people going.

It’s why I like MJF so much, he’s obviously an act, but almost every big promo he does I’m wondering at the back of my mind “is this actually genuine vitriol?”

Anyway,

What’s being reported now is that there was a physical altercation between Punk and the Young Bucks backstage during the event with the Bucks. And all the discussion seems to be people wondering if this is real, a work, or a work-shoot.

Yeah I absolutely don't know what is real or a work anymore to be honest. I guess we'll find out in the coming days and weeks, but I hope things aren't really that bad backstage.

This is kind of on brand for him though. That was what made him a star in WWE, being the voice of the voiceless, and speaking out against management. But, in the WWE, the management was, at least on screen, portrayed as the villains, and a lot of fans had a negative view ow management. A lot of fans were fans despite the WWE itself. So CM Punk was seen as a hero standing up against the corrupt management.

So, they wanted CM Punk, and they got him, for better or for worse. But, it comes off way different when he's the star of the company, especially when one of his key targets was a midcard guy who is struggling. And, Punk kept bringing the conversation back to this, regardless of whatever he was asked. It wasn't really a good look for Punk or anyone obviously, even taking everything we didn't see with a grain of salt. Punk was probably right on everything he said, but bad way to express it.

Meanwhile in the WWE Universe Braun Stowman is back. Which is probably good. Always a place for a large man who can work decently. Guess he's ok with HHH controlling his narrative. But, he kind of just buried the whole tag division. They were at least weakened from fighting each other, but, this really wasn't the best way to debut him IMO.
