There's a few borderline comments, a bit of trolling and flaming, in this exchange let's not escalate it further beyond that.

What the holy $@&! ? I thought the U.S. Got great deals :p

Xbox One S (500GB) with FIFA 17 + Gears of War 4 + Grand Theft Auto V + Forza Horizon 3 + Overwatch (Origins Edition) + Mafia III + Halo 5: Guardians is £337.49 at Tesco.

eidt: saw it on ign deals if anyone was interested.

That, without doubt, represents a fearful company. It would be bad enough if it was an OG XB1 bundle but this is their latest, and supposedly greatest XB1s. If that's what it takes for MS to stand a chance of 'winning' a month then it's game over for them as far as this gen goes. It's a completely unsustainable strategy and can only lead to a crash in the near future. As I said before though, let's hope it doesn't drag Sony or Nintendo down with it. MS are currently singlehandedly devalueing the console market.

Lol.. Fearful of what? they just posted the biggest revenue increase ever and you make a silly statement like that. You do realise that with massive profits they have the capacity to spend and spur on a bit of product interest in their non core business for growth. Remenber... they are not the one here fighting back from the brink of existence. Context would go a long way here I think..

I think Shadow is right, and that the yearly and monthly are only updating every other day for some reason.

From what I recall the revenue was down (5%) on the back of slighly less consoles sold but offset to an extent due due to an increase in xbox live subscriptions (Xbox Live monthly active users grew 21% to 47 million). Not a terrible result by any standards.  Remember, this is not MS' bread and butter and is more than sustained or offset by incredible revenue and profits elsewhere in its business.  MS remain committed to gaming as part of its broader strategy hence the attactive deals thay are prepared to offer. Simply they can afford it.  Growth appears to be the plan here..

Yearly (3 days since last update)

#15 / Pokémon moon (up 2)
#17 / Pokémon sun (up 1)
#37 / Final Fantasy XV - Limited edition (same)
#44 / Pokémon sun+moon (same)
#84 / Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (up 1)
#86 / PS4 Pro (up 4)
#100 / Final Fantasy XY (New entry)

PS4 Pro has surpassed Xbox one S in the yearly, which is crazy. I starting to wonder if PS4 Pro can sell more than all others PS4 SKUs (fat/slim) in November NPD. Pokémon continue always up by at least one place all 2/3 days, it's first month will be insane. Also lmfao, i just noted that Final Fantasy limited edition was in the yearly for SO LONG but i never update it i'll start right now!

Total gaming revenue was down 5%. Software and services revenue was up 6% and hardware revenue was down 26%. The lower console prices and sales were to blame for the revenue being down YOY. The lower sales surprised me because Microsoft likely had the entire fiscal quarter to ship XB1Ses (remember, MS gets revenue from shipments, not retail sales). And while the MAU is up 20.5% YOY, it decreased from 49 million MAU the quarter before even though Microsoft had 2 full months of the XB1S in the market and way more notable games (e.g. Forza Horizon 3, Madden, FIFA, etc.). The YOY percent increases between the MAU and software/services revenue aren't one-to-one, implying that the proportion of money spent per user decreased. Overall, I don't see much growth, but rather stagnation.

not insofar that growth may be evident in the latest report, however the attrcactive deals and sales would indicate that growth is the underlying strategy or aim and that indicates to me a commttment to growing or at least sustaining the gaming segment.
