No argument with that i3 not lasting him another 5 years, but no need for anything "K", lest you overclock. Any Haswell i5, e.g i5 4460 will be perfectly good for most anything considering the GPU-bound nature of games these days - that CPU is great value these days, and in the future, should only fall in price.

Nevertheless, any i3, gen 4 and later, which is not cache-starved, is perfectly good for most games these days. I would get a new GPU and another stick of RAM.

The 4460 will do him some years as well, though I don't see why he has to always be cheap in his options. I'm not advocating he absolutely splurge, but I;m not saying he should be skimping out on the core parts either.

Also don't forget about some recent CPU itensive titles like Ashes of a Singularity or Total War.

If he gets another stick of RAM and a GPU, he'll eventually need to swap out for a CPU, one that fits with a new mobo, and we know his build is already dated, so that adds to the cost. THe more you hold back on a part that is cruicial, the more it ends up having you swap out more down the line.

16gb of RAM but only the 3gb 1060???

8gb of ram is certainly sufficient at the moment, it'd be better to get the higher vram version than pointlessly get 16gb ram.

Yep, but first he needs to check if his PSU can handle the extra watts, the TDP of that 750 is low.

That Nvidia easily destroyed the GTX 1060 memory ram, what i should do. Convince him getting GTX 1060 6gb or what? The system requirements nowadays is complete random, so, here's a benchmarks. Nvidia is Nvidia, can't do anything with them, sorry. The GTX 1050 Ti 4GB is coming fyi.

8gb would fill up easily, heck. My ram is on used nearly 8gb lmao

My ram is 64gb ddr4...

Pre-fetching.  You're not actually "using" 8 GB of RAM.  Your OS has simply pre-loaded apps, files, etc....that you use most frequently.

Turn pre-fetching off and watch your RAM use drop by half.   In fact, if you are using an SSD, you should turn off pre-fetching anyway.

I think its the RAM that is the biggest issue. You should toss another stick in there.

id second that, ram is extremly important...i always run rivia tuner on my pc to check cpu usage gpu usage and ram usage. you will be suprised how much gets used even on old games like rainbow six vegas it uses 5gb

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

Okay, so I've been looking for some pieces, and I wanted to ask yow what you think about this possible setting:

Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bits
EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming 6GB GDDR5
RAM. 16 gb
Processor Intel Core i3-4330 CPU 3.50GH

Although, i'm browsing 20 tabs on mozilla & 15 tabs on chrome, both installed addons... And i'm leaving opened 3 windowed games(Overwatch, doom & Witcher 3 Gog ver.) plus office word & excel.

Hey, i'm a heavy multi-tasker. ^^

Don't worry about my CPU, it's Core i7-6800K and my network card is helping my - Can i leave? ._.

What do you mean already? Your PC was outdated 2/3 years ago

Nice setup. I think you can live with 12GB RAM. So If you have already 4, then buy and add 8. If you have 2x2GB and 4 DIMM slots and Dual Channel support, then buy 2x4GB with the same frequency as yours. A bit later you can upgrade to 4x4GB throwing out your current 4GB. If you have one 4GB plate, then buy 3x4GB for Dual Channel and 16GB. Anyway you do not need more RAM even in future, because next time you will need to update your CPU and then motherboard also, and most likely RAMs, PSU etc.

For the moment 1060 6G and 12GB RAM is pretty cool, especially for fullhd. And if you are OK with 30fps then you can enjoy playing with high settings easily.
