Forums - Gaming - Would you buy a PS4Pro/Scorpio if...

4K gaming really is premature yes, when the hardware performance just isn't there yet, framerate isn't there and most gamers don't even own 4K screens.

Nobody asked for this, everyone wanted better performance in 1080p. But this is what we got. If I already owned a PS4 I wouldn't upgrade to a Pro, but since I don't have one and the exclusive library of games I would like to play is getting big enuff I will buy a Pro now.

I'd get the PS4 Pro, if i were in need of a new tv. My 3D Smart tv, is only 4 years old though, so, i'll probably still have it, until the next thing after 4K, comes out.

Developers want to sell games.... part of that is makeing sure your screenshots/trailers look beautifull.
They rather spend the resources on makeing games look prettier, than running 60fps.

Why? because it sells better.

Even if you gave the console more resources, they would most likely again just use that for graphics instead of fps.
Its a choice, not a limit of the hardware.

also by now theres probably 100's+ games at 1080p60.

If you prefer 60fps yourself then just buy more of those titles, you dont have to wait for scorpio to do that, PS4 already has plenty of them.

Better graphics sell games and a higher fps doesn´t what is so hard to understand about that?

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

60 fps should be the bare minimum going forward, i totally agree. But that's no gold standard. I've been playing at 100+ fps on pc for over a decade, especially on shooters and there's no way to go lower anymore. Recently bought the gtx 1070 and was on 200 fps in battlefield 4 (1080p low settings) locked. For single player sure 60 could be perfectly fine though

They could do 60fps if they wanted. The problem is they always choose resolution over fps. So, no. If i did that i would be screwed over.

I'd only buy one if my current console breaks. I just bought a 4k set so I'd be able to reap the benefits of the new console. Still, I see no reason to buy one or the other if a person owns the current iteration of either console. Just my opinion...

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

My main PS4 keeps doing a weird video glitch when I turn it on for about 3 minutes. The video goes on and off like a bad HDMI connection (lots of flickering with pink and green screen)...but it's not that. Then it will freeze and then reboot a clean image. I pre-ordered a PS4 Pro because I think it's just a matter of time before I lose the original PS4.

I could use the extra storage space, and would love to see a performance boost, even if it is only a slight one.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

60fps is a design choice.

Pretty much every console that has ever existed in the past 20 years can do 60fps.

We only have 30fps because developers want the visual quality, or AI count. If they all wanted 60fps we would have it.

I don't think there will ever be a time where games run at the highest possible resolution at 60f on console, consistently. At least not for the foreseeable future.
The more power developers have at their disposal, the more they tend devote to visuals. Because that's what people see in magazines and adds. That's what sells games. Not framerate.

Of course they can, a lot of games can do it.

It's just if the developers want to lower the graphical quality.
