That's very sad, but it's exactly my feeling too. I was a fan for like 18 years now. I even got hyped by Wii U, tried to overpass things that I disliked in it, but it never excited me enough, so I bought a XOne. Even my 3DS was eventually sold due to lack of really quality games (it's 2016, I love Pokemon, but it's not enough for me anymore).

Day after day, I've been waiting for news of the NX, but I already realized that it won't fulfill my expectations (it's just impossible at this point, they missed the point way back there) and living in Brazil, where 350 USD consoles are sold for like 650 USD, makes me have to choose just one console per time and that one console probably won't be Nintendo anytime in the near future.

It is sad to see these kind of stories. I'm one of those pointing Nintendo failures like delays and droughts because it is hurting their image.

 

At some point, their quality won't be enough as the userbase would have moved.

 

No more excuses. No more apologists. No more please understand. Market is not going to tolerate anymore.

The article doesn't point to any evidence to suggest a delay. Most tech companies do not unveil their product until close to launch. Even Sony didn't announce or unveil the PS4 Pro until two months before. Apple just weeks before. If Nintendo unveils in January, that's still PLENTY of time until March.

The later they unveil it, the closer the hype boom is to the launch. The notion that consoles MUST launch X number of months after launch is a stupid myth. All Forbes has to go on is a stupid myth.

Good point about the Pro. Althought, I see the Pro as a revision really. But, yes, good point.

What, so none of my options for replying is that this is bullshit and I don't believe it?

The system was reiterated only a few days ago to be coming out in March. And it wouldn't be the first time that a mainline Zelda title missed the holiday period.

This. And the promises of more games. If they couldn't release more games, fine. If they couldn't persuade third parties, fine. But don't lie, don't promise of "more games". Shovelwares do not, in any way, count.

Most of all, it just feels like it Nintendo themselves is perfectly content on being a secondary console... or third, for that matter. IF THAT.

People need to understand the differences between Forbes, and Forbes bloggers. The bloggers just write random thoughts. This guy does it all the time. It's completely fact-less. Ignore it.
