Because MS cannot suddenly pull 20 must have exclusives out of their hat to make people actually consider an Xbox over a PS4 that most of their friends have. X1 has shown over 3 years that it does not have enough to offer for people to consider buying it over a PS4. To suddenly reverse that situation it would have to produce value out of nothing that not only rivals PS4 value but doubles it. That's not what I call equal. We will see how much behind X1 really is this Holiday with major releases on Sony side. |
Oh your just talking about sales. Thought you were talking about something important.

So you expect the PS5 not to be at least twice as powerful as Scorpio? And you also think that the gap is closing when the Scorpio is released? What if I told you that the gap will be increasing like it did before its release. A powerful console is useless without content. I don't see how Sony would ever need a breather within the next 5 years. For that there would have to be competition. |
Unless some breakthrough happens or Sony stacks as many Nvidia cards on the damned thing as they can... nope...
And the console can have content. No reason to think the Scorpio will flop when it will be getting everything the XONE is getting and games unable to run on it...
Sony needs a breather because if they develop a new console, people will shift over to that one and the Neo will stop selling. By then, Scorpio will gain on the Neo and have a one sided lead.
Because the PS5 has to start from square one and the Neo dies when it's out. If the Scorpio can outlive both, then it wins by virtue of having an unasailable lifespan.

PS Pro did a smart move in ditching the drive. I mean, who really buys physical discs these days? Answer is the number declines every day. So Sony are going to ship a console with a drive which costs about £30-50 less which they will pass on. MSFT are going to have to either swallow the extra cost or push up prices.
I get both cuz:
- PS4 has the best and most variety in exclusives
- Xbone Scorpio has 4K bluray, better specs and Sunset Overdrive
Too bad Xbox doesnt have many compelling exclusives, and the ones it has end up on pc, thing is I will soon have a gtx 1070 as well.

I'll buy my system for the games they have. Right now the PS4 (by extension, P4P) has my interest in that regard and so I care more for it. But I do like what I see on the X1 and may pick it up as well. For me it has never been about power. Hell, if it was I wouldn't be primarily a handheld gamer XD so if it's got games I like, that's the system I want

This holiday season will be a disaster for Microsoft. The scorpio will help it recover some next year, but not nearly enough.
I´m buying Ps4 Pro and if Scorpio is 399 you can count me in.
I don't care about the PS4Pro and the Scorpio. I have a regular PS4 and getting my XB1S next month.
With "retro gaming" becoming more popular than ever I think people are finally tired of the shooter and testosterone glut shoved in their face by the Xbox ecosystem and are experiencing some of what video games used to be like before it was so heavily commercialized by big dollar AAA companies catering to the mainstream. There's only so many times you can play Halo/Gears/Forza/Madden.
Time for platformers and RPGs and games with cute characters and cartoony graphics and single player fun and STORIES to make a come back so video games can be video games and not just the most realistic Gulf War and NFL simulators Activision and EA can copy paste every year. Bring back the tips and tricks and glitches and infinite lives and ultimate weapons and all the things we used to have before the start of incessant weekly patches always nerfing everything in the name of competitive play.
And Microsoft isn't about any of this. In their mind everything is Halo or CoD and they can't see to break away from that.
Let's make video games great again.
Sony + Nintendo it is.
