Marathons don't last 4 years. They last 20.

At any rate, this is bogus if the Scorpio isn't powerful enough to withstand the test of time and we can't be sure if it will. At some point Sony will create a PS5 and need to take a breather. That's when the Scorpio can strike by not needing to upgrade itself and weathering next gen on its own.

Whether it can do that remains to be seen.

So you expect the PS5 not to be at least twice as powerful as Scorpio? And you also think that the gap is closing when the Scorpio is released?

What if I told you that the gap will be increasing like it did before its release. A powerful console is useless without content. I don't see how Sony would ever need a breather within the next 5 years. For that there would have to be competition.

Unless some breakthrough happens or Sony stacks as many Nvidia cards on the damned thing as they can... nope...

And the console can have content. No reason to think the Scorpio will flop when it will be getting everything the XONE is getting and games unable to run on it...

Sony needs a breather because if they develop a new console, people will shift over to that one and the Neo will stop selling. By then, Scorpio will gain on the Neo and have a one sided lead.

Because the PS5 has to start from square one and the Neo dies when it's out. If the Scorpio can outlive both, then it wins by virtue of having an unasailable lifespan.
