I was just looking at the game database and comparing games, I compared call of duty 2 for the ps2 and cod4 for the ps3 and the ps3 already outsold the game 2 to 1. Not only that but this was even more suprising:

Ratchet ps3 is selling better than the ps2 ratchet, and even more suprising:

Uncharted is about to outsell jak 3 on the ps2, does this mean that exclsuives on the PS3 will sell much better than there ps2 counter parts? Only time will tell.

or it could mean that the number of quality games on the ps3 is not as robust as the ps2 when the previous games came out and players, wanting to play Good games... buy the limited number of good games the system has, games they might not have bought otherwise.

You are comparing apples to apples in a few cases there, you really can't compare Uncharted to Jak3...

But one game that I think will do awsome on the PS3 is GT5. Sim Racing is one of the few genres that graphics really do matter ALOT, and GT5 look photoreal.. Could be a huge seller. I think GTA will not catch on for the PS3 as much as many of you think it will do to the hardcore nature of the PS3 fans and relativly casual nature GTA gamers. GTA seems to fit the 360 audience better.
If any PS3 game sells 10 million in the next few years it will be GT5(not MGS4 or GTA4)

Why cant I compare Uncharted with jak 3? They are both made by naugthy dog. Also did oyu not notice ratchet's sales?

This is significant because a much smaller user base is generating higher software sales with AAA titles.

Jak 3 had undeservingly low sales, as did Jak 2, they are fantastic games!
Better in most ways than the R&C series, which is also a brilliant series to be sure.
Uncharted came at an opportune time, launching not long before holidays, and arriving at a time when the "no games for PS3" whining hit the apex.
It definately deserves good sales, but it had bigger waves to ride than most other PS3 games so far (it didn't hurt that it was developed by arguably the best 3rd party developer on the PS brand through 2 generations either...).

I think it is kinda like the Wii leo-j. Look at RE4:Wii edition... It is an awsome game no doupt, but if there were hordes of newer quality Mature games on the wii RE4 prolly would have died out after cmas.

PS3 gamers are hardcore, they look at reviews... If it is a good game they buy it. Thus the reason why ONLY AAA titles seem to sell on the PS3(not to mention people are not going to spend 59.99 on a AA title, maybe 39.99...)

I'll give you R&C. Though I think the main reason for its success was better marketing/hype, since I'd never even heard of R&C (or J&D for that matter) until the PS3 launched.

As for COD, look at the 360 sales:
COD4: 5.34M
COD3: 2.00M
COD2: 2.02M

Pretty obvious that COD4 is just that much better than COD2.

ps3 must be bought by hardcore gamers mostly, higher attach rate explains higher software sales.

Also GT 5 Prologue WILL outsell GT 4 Prologue

& I think FFXIII wil def. outsell FFXII & FFIX

I just wonder if a AAA title like Fina fantasy XIII can outsell a game like FF X, I hope this trend continues.
