Yeah, this. I don't get the mentality of gamers sometimes.

You can still buy the Wii U versions of these games if you choose to. In the end, the Wii U is unable to get anywhere at this point and the ports they've made are ports from games that released about a year ago before these ports are released. Nintendo can only do so much, especially since NX is on the way and they're seemingly now putting their new assets on this console. So even the 3DS isn't exactly getting completely new games with mostly new assets due to that. Still at least it can survive another year. All in all, I have enjoyed my Wii U despite buying it just last year. Sm4sh, Bayonetta, Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade Chronicles X, etc. are incredible and I've yet to play other games released on Wii U and 3DS. I don't regret not am I unhappy about my purchase.
Like absolute dogshit, and I'm a major Nintendo defender. May as well not even made the console if more than half the library is gonna go to the portable system.
Mario 3D, and new Mario bros (already had one on 3ds)
Zelda Wii U fiasco
Hyrule Warriors, Mario maker, yoshi (all on 3ds now)
Kirby (obviously started as a 3ds idea)
Smash being on both systems (while the Wii U version was great, would've gotten more content if the 3DS one was cut)
Star Fox (obviously another remake of 64)
Third party support being nonexistent
I really feel like the power from Wii U should've been in the Wii, and it's sounding like the NX should've come out instead of the Wii U.
I once debated about getting a Wii U, but I lost interest with the lack of games that were releasing. I imagine many Wii U owners are unhappy.

"Betrayed" probably isn't the best term to use, but I think this direct (which was totally AWESOME if you're a New 3DS owner) kind of inadvertently hammered home where Nintendo's priorities currently lie. I don't regret buying a Wii U; I have about 15 or so games for it and I've enjoyed the majority of them, but the last two years seemed like Nintendo wasn't putting out as much effort as they used to on the Wii U side of things (at least that's my impression). They never abandoned the Wii U completely, but it just seemed like a lot of stuff slowed way down.
Well personally I still think the WiiU has many of the best exclusives this gen, but the third party support was horrible. I do really like the console. I just wish Nintendo would've given it more attention now like they did in the first 3 years.
Who was that poster who swore again and again the Wii U would be supported for a lot longer? I think he became a Sony fan now?

I can see where the frustration over Nintendo focusing on 3DS versus the Wii U comes from, don't get me wrong. There's been many, many times over the past 20 years where I wish a lot of the effort put into handheld games was put into console games, and not just from Nintendo. I'm just not really seeing why people are upset that Wii U games are being ported to 3DS. And I own both systems.

I enjoyed the Wii U, but it sales don't justify the continued support. They need to regather resources and make sure the same mistake does not happen again.

I got Pikmin and LoZ Skyward Sword out of this at least, so it's not all bad.
I get that these games need more exposure, especially with NX incoming. And yeah I've known the WiiU is dead for a long time, but seeing it's games ported away like that is still a tiny kick to the gut, because it's a reminder that this is really it for the console.
