As long as the Cod bundle stays stocked and continues to do damage, I wouldn't worry about the PS4P because it doesn't release until Nov. I see no way the xbox can win in Nov. I also think it's going to win this month as well. Gears has a lot sitting on it's shoulders to pull out a Oct win

Just wait for the OG PS4 stock to run out. As I said, many people actually prefer the look of the OG PS4 and at $50 less the outcome was inevitable.

And just to add: Sony have already sold out of their allocated stock of PSVR so marketing that doesn't make much sense, unless they manage to produce a few more to give it retail presence. My guess would be: PSPro > PSSlim > PSVR.

Yeah, this is why the slim isnt going high up in the charts at the moment, they are getting rid of the OG PS4, that stock needs to go before they start really pushing the slim.

I think Slim and pro will share a lot of the marketing together. I can see an advert for Cod and at the end of the ad '$299, play in 4k with the PS Pro for $399'.

PSVR they need to market like crazy otherwise it could crash and burn after launch. PSVR in stores for people to try is important but awareness of the product via video ads will also be important for a 'new' tech like this.

I can even see a 30 second TV spot with all 3 products.

Yes, general adverts will end with both consoles side by side, each leaning inwards. I'm wondering how they'll handle the 4K thing. It's not as if they can't use 'native 4K' if they show games that actually run at 4K like TLOUR (and checkerboard rendering does actually create a 4K image and isn't just stretching a lower res to fit the screen), but labelling it that way could make people think they need a 4K TV. 'More powerful' or 'better graphically' perhaps?

That's a good point. Unless they use 10 seconds of the ad to explain the benefits of the Pro in both 1080 and 4k, they'll just have to add something like 'advanced graphics and 4k gaming with PS Pro' at the end. 

 

It'll be interesting to see what approach they take.

Yeah, I can see that working as long as 4K isn't too conspicuous. 'HDR' is something they CAN push without a problem and in my opinion the reason they've decided to unlock it on the PS4. I also think the '4K' problem could be the reason they went with PS4pro and not PS4K.
