I think it's funny that people think that they're entitled to a refund, just because they don't like a game. Props to Hello Games for being so cool about it though.

Wish people were THIS upset everytime EA or Ubisoft squirts out a piece of garbage. Guess indie devs will ALWAYS have an unnecessary uphill struggle though.

People are pretty upset when EA and Ubisoft releases a bad game. Please stop it with the whole "poor indies". Its just not true.

Normally I woulkd agree, but this is about marketing features that did not appear in the game. Cant do that. If this was just a bad game that you bought based on hype then your problem get over it.

It's like you are choosing to ignore the reasons on purpose.

People are asking for refunds since there are tons of basic game features which were promised missing and there is no indication when and if they will be added and at what if any cost.

There is an entire website dedicated to everything which was promised to be in game which isn't and it's a lot.

With EA and Ubisoft they end up releasing games which have all the features as advertised but are shit since they are rinsing and repeating a formula or have had a downgrade since the first trailer 1-2 years ago.

They release demos / betas prior to release and the game gets reviewed prior to launch.

Non of the above is applicable to NMS.

Loll wut?

If anyone is selling a product for money, they are subject to criticism. Please come down from your high horse... Every developer/publisher including EA and Ubisoft gets criticized everytime they launch a game that has issues and indie games certainly will not be an exception.

And I am not sure what do you mean by Hello games being so "cool about it" since they don't dictate whether or not people are allowed to get a refund...

Good on Sony and Steam for offering refunds.

Okay so I rang uo today and here is the long and short of it:

1) they will only refund immediately if it's within the 14 day purchase period.

If it isn't then:

2.1) you need to email hello games on their contact page with why you want a refund;

2.2) get a automatic reply and email it to help@uk.playstation.com with your reference number;

2.3) the admin team will then make a decision on refunding you.

3) there is no way to escalate the call other than via a call back.

4) Playstation Supports stance is that Hello Games need to be the ones responsible since they are the developer which is why after 14 days the procedure must go via Hello Games, even if Sony supported the product, made it a console exclusive and we're the retailer on psn for it.

Will update if and when I get a call back.

I thought it might not be easy.  The article even talked about people curious if they refunded being blocked from buying it again cheaper. In all honesty, 14 days is a pretty good amount of time to determine if you like the game or not but it will be interesting to see HG's response.

I still think they could help themselves by releasing a statement about the features people are upset about.  I personally want to know if indeed MP is not there or that was a glitch because that's important to me.  The other features I never knew were supposed to be there in the first place so, for me, the game is feature complete and I wouldn't feel right in asking for a refund on a game that gave me what I thought it would. I also enjoy the game, so there is that.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

If you enjoy it fair enough. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed my time with the game, but what I wanted isn't there yet. I'm doing this out of fear where what I want might be added at a cost later. That's when I will feel royally screwed.

If they announce today like Evolution did and say this is what we will implement over the next 6 months. This is what will be given free and this is what you will need to pay for, I'll keep the game.

Truthfully I considered it when I read your thread.  Not because of what's missing because it's not missing what I thought was in it.  I didn't even know about some of the stuff people are upset about being there in the first place.

The reason I considered it is because I bought it partly based on seeing comments they'd continue to grow it for a long while with things to do.  I personally think that's in jeopardy after the internet storm that's been going on.  I could see HG sinking and me not getting the updates that I did see promised, paid or not.  I don't know if they can weather this storm or not and it's not as though it's a Sony ip like driveclub to have that backing.  It's 14 guy team I believe.  Big studios would have a hard time surviving this type of onslaught.

edit: Even further, the fear of this particular situation was in me before launch.  For months I could tell this game was going to get heat.  I mean before all the features, bugs etc..  You could just tell.  I still bought it expecting a big giant space goof off place that I could play with my son.  That's why the MP clarification is important to me as well as an easier way to find friends and get to them.  I hope they have time to add and or fix that before closing doors.
