Forums - Nintendo Discussion - NX Buyers: 1080P Or Better Detail 720P?

Wouldn't improving the game's graphics for the console version add extra layer of work for the developers? Might put off those touchy western developers

Maybe it's best to keep it simple and use the same graphics through the family and just change the resolution from 720p mobile to 1080p stationary. But hey, if developers can afford to improve the game even further wrt to the device, sure, go ahead and do it.

Honestly, I dont even care anymore. I want a good solid framerate, and that is it. Be it locked 30, 60 or in 720 or 1080.

Wouldn't it depend on how much power the dock has ? In which case I'm positive they could pull off 1080p without losing detail

Anything lower than 1080p in 2017 would be nothing short of insulting. Unless they sell it for 150$ at launch, in which case I may accept it.

There will be PS4 and Xbox One games coming out in 2017 that run below 1080p. :P

People are playing 3DS games right now at 240p, lol. In fact that's the lead platform in Japan. Does it eat you up inside?

On consoles released in 2013 that will probably be replaced by 2018-2019 and that will cost around 250$ or below by the end of this year.

NX launch is early 2017, thinking abount playing at 720p in 2020+ just saddens me. Well, unless Nintendo start releasing new consoles every 2-3 years, who knows.

Still, there will be sub-1080p games releasing on consoles until at least 2019, regardless of what Nintendo does.

No, I have no interest in handheld consoles. I'm speaking as a home console/pc gamer, assuming the NX will have to replace the Wii U so that, one way or another, it will also play the role of a home console.
