Forums - Gaming - Less Than One Percent Of No Man’s Sky Players Reported Issues

GribbleGrunger said:

It just goes to show how the internet represents such a small percentage of gamers and how a tiny vocal minority can make it look as if 'everyone' is having problems:

Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky can be seen as one of the most anticipated games of all time in the video games industry, and since its release, players have had mixed opinions about it.

Part of the reason people had mixed opinions is due to poor optimization on PC and a delayed release, with PS4 players reporting issues as well. However, Hello Games’ Founder Sean Murray tweeted out that “less than one per cent of players have raised support issues.”

Well, your OP is actually a good example of how everything becomes a fact on the internet just because you posted it :)
I own the game on PC and I have a really good PC (i7, Titan, 32gb) and the game is just bad at many level.

- Framerate is a disaster
- There is not so much to do in general; I mean yes you upgrade your gear, get the Atlas passes and even create (discover) your own galaxy but at the end all planets are pretty much the same
- The planets are just way too empty.

There is no way, only 1% are unhappy with the game; maybe only one % reported it (and I doubt that too) but a lot must not be playing the game anymore or got a refund.

Where did the dev say only 1% are unhappy with the game?

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

Nowhere, yet that's exactly what they are suggesting by saying that.

I find it a little hard to believe that the issue report percentage is 1%, seeing how often word has been with the game crashing. Perhaps not everyone sends a report back to HG. I know sometimes I didn't click the report button either because I was in a rush or I didn't think it would do anything. Guess I was wrong on that. Good to see they're working on the issues though.

The vast majority of people that have issues do not report them, basically for every 1 that reports a problem there will be another 10 others that do not. I will probably buy this game in a few weeks when more of the kinks are ironed out.

Well, at least I know I'm not the only one, and now I should report those every times a game crashes or issues happen, since the devs actually do get them and do something about them.

Is it?  Interesting.  I read that less than 1% have raised support issues.  That says absolutely nothing about their emotions towards the game.

By saying that they want the reader to think everything is going perfectly but there is a very tiny minority of unhappy users on the internet that makes it looks like a big deal, the rest is fine. In reality that couldn't be far from the truth as the problems with the game seems to affect most of the owners, specially on PC where is a mess.

Perfectly bug wise or perfectly happiness wise?

I fail to see how a percentage of support tickets filed is the dev saying that same percent are the only ones unhappy.

Ahhh you again! I don't think I've seen you in a Sony thread without having a little dis. You've certainly upped your game for NMS.

OT: So here, context is key! Let's take a look because a lot of wild claims and assuptions are being made.

Let's take a look at what was said.

I think it's pretty clear he's talking about their customer support that they've set up to handle these issues.

First Sean mentions that they have hired a customer support team that is bigger than their developing team, they then create a page for people to get help and support. They tweet this;

"Even though less than one per cent of players have raised support issues, we're going to resolve roughly 70% of them this week"

this

"It's pretty crazy for us how many people are playing. And how large a number even 1% of that user base is."

and this

"We're totally focused on customer support right now. Then we'll move onto improving and adding features to the game "

He's clearly talking about issues raised to his support team.

But granted it should of been sorted pre-launch. 1% is still quite high considering everybody with an issue will not bother contacting them for support.

No they're not. They're saying only 1% have reported issues. This is the typical example of how people are twisting the narrative to perpetuate an agenda.

It should have launched in a better state for the PC.  That said, it sure sounds like they're trying to make it right.
