RE hit rock bottom in the past 10 years. RE4 was the last RE that I truly enjoyed. This looks very promising. And getting away from the formula they used for RE6 is atleast a chance for this game franchise to be entertaining again. As it stands right now RE is dead for me.

True, but then again this is not an RE game, if it is what is shown only, is a new game like amnesia or outlast with the RE license behind it.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Indeed. I was actually annoyed by the "too much action" from Resident Evil 6, at least on Chris and Jake's campaign (Leon's campaign was Ok).

Now, we have Resident Evil 7 focused on the horror aspect... And I'm loving it!

So there was complaining that the game went to much action, so the reasonable response is take all action off completly? sure, that makes sense. F*ck midle grounds.

I don't think they will take all action off completly.  The axe found in the demo shows that you will actually fight zombies along the way. And I think there are going to be more weapons, it's just not going to be pure action.

The game looks ok but it´s not a Resident Evil u.u They said they were going back to it´s original roots so I was hoping of something more like Revelations (which are awesome) :/
Thank god they are doing Resident Evil 2.

ugh, was hoping that demo would be nothing like the final product. Hate the first person view and to me Resident Evil is about shooting things. More recent entries have gone a bit too far on the shooting things side, but having a gun and being able to defend yourself from enemies with it is a fundamental part of the series to me.

They already said that there would be weapons in the game.

To be honest, it probably wouldn't even bother me half as much if the game was third person...

Operation Raccoon City is 3rd person and it's arguably one of, if not, the worst RE games out there.

... Every main line Resident Evil game is third person too, and people love them (Maybe not so much with 5-6, although I liked both), so what's your point here?

That it's irreleavnt if a game is 1st person or 3rd person. That doesn't affect a game's quality.

they are really making this franchise back to horror survival...

but totally doesn't seems like a RE series anymore...

This game is gonna end up as another disappointment. People asked for a few things, but an Outlast clone wasn't one of them.

Seriously though, the 1st person run and hide schtick is so worn out at this point, there are so many different things they could do with horror and they play it safe by making another clone in a popular subgenre.

RE wasn't genre defining anymore, but it's become too "me too". The demo was dull and boring, I fear they'll recycle the generic tropes for the entire game.

Then why did you bring up Operation Raccoon City? That game would have been bad if it were first person too... the game itself was just plain bad, and anyone could have seen that from the very first time they showed it off, a change in perspective wouldn't help whatsoever. This game on the other hand, despite being such a departure from the Resident Evil we know, looks like it has the potential to be very good, I was simply stating that if they at least kept the camera positioning from a third person perspective, it maybe wouldn't feel like such a huge departure or change in terms of how the game is presented.

Oh, I agree with you there! I just feel like some people are being a tad bit too harsh with the game, some even saying it could the worst RE game ever made.
