Forums - Nintendo - KH3 Momentarily Lissted for NX

NX will be the no.1 platform in Japan, it makes sense for it to get all the big Japanese games so long as it can handle a reasonable port.

It doesn't have to be a pixel perfect port, Japanese gamers don't care nearly as much about graphics, portability is much more important over there.

Where does this confidence come from?

It functioning as a portable system (3DS successor ), the last decade of the Japanese hardware sales, the current state of PS4 sales in Japan.

KH3 could potentially sell very well on the NX, but we'll see what happens.

Every portable platform from Nintendo since the 00s has had a KH game so it's not much of a surprise if true.

*sigh* Just nobody else quote me unless you are going to read my posts fully and properly counter my posts with logic and reasoning. It gets tiresome seeing that blue mark to see someone else basically just going "nuh-uh because *point that doesn't actually refute my reasoning and is parroting the because why not argument*".

Yes, I understand KH has bounced around. Now read my reasoning regarding SE's consolidation of the series and what would make sense surrounding that current idea and movement of the series as a whole. No, FF and Dragon Quest aren't comparable here. They released on the most popular console at the time and moved to the next console to hold the title, and otherwise have been subject to SE's attempts to leech the Japanese handheld market dry in more recent years. That is not the *current* (read: as of 2016) position of Kingdom Hearts.

Yes, I understand that the game is coming to Xbox One, and that already doesn't make sense. Frankly, it is a nonsensical waste of time unlikely to even recoup the costs of porting, no matter how simple the process between PS4 and Xbox One might be. SE is just hoping to grab the most out of the Western audience, since the Xbox One version clearly is not for Japan.

Yes, I understand SE has voiced interest in the NX. This is just the standard third party developer "it's new so we're interested" thing. It happens with literally every new console. How about we wait for real world results, eh? No, I don't care what rumor x or rumor y says about what the NX could or couldn't be. I'll wait for the Nintendo reveal before deciding it is going to revolutionize gaming forever as an undeniably attractive prospect for the Japanese.

Finally, yes, I actually read the article. If you had too, you would be even more convinced this is nonsense at this point in time simply because of how poorly thought out the reasoning is. It's reasoning built around desperation for Nintendo to be accepted by third parties that have denied them on the home console level for generations. Sorry if that argument does not sway me.

So if I see that blue mark again, do me a favor and give me good reasons why I'm wrong that extend beyond general Nintendo fan reasoning of "we really want third parties to notice us again".

It actually makes sense KH III comming to the NX.But before I go through my arguments, I would like to say yeah, the article(taking out the part of the listing) seems like a nintendo fan dream. Its especially stupid the part that he says square was holding off KH 3 footage from E3 just for the NX reveal.Having said that...

KH 3 on NX dosent seem unlikely due to the fact that its also comming out for xone, as you pointed out, but the stronger evidencr is that KH presence on Nintendo platforms(handhelds) is also very strong. And not having the full story available to those consumers never stopped them frombuying the games, as evidenced that every handheld game sells at least 2 million units. Now, you said it that handheld is different than console(and by that I understood that successes on a numbered title that have a higher focus on the main story would be a harder sell), I would agree to a certain extent.Trying to play KH now without the context of the full story is hard and confusing, BUT. The Nx, if rumours are to be believed, is alao a home console. With that, they can atrract fans of the series that played all games to the NX(much like what they are trying to do with xone) serving as a selling point to the console, and also making the game sell on the system.Plus, if NX also appeals to the casual market, it could also sell to them.It wont matter if they played the other games, what will sell to them is having disney charachters on it(Big Hero 6, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and so on). Those reasons and other small ones(KH having a artstyle that cam appeal to usual Nintendo fans, etc) makes the game being ported to the NX more reasonable than you think.

And to be quite honest, you didnt put that many actual arguments as to why KH 3 wouldnt sell on the system, but more of a " I dont fell like it will happen because of reasons" evidenced by the last line where you atack Nintendo fans saying that this news is them being desperate. That dosent bode well in a post that it is supposed to be an argument.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

We've read your posts, they just don't mke any sense.  Square hasn't tried to "consolodate" the series.  They're just trying to sell as many copies as possible.  When it comes to NX, it is likely to be the lead platform in Japan if it is a portable new console concept.  Home consoles are struggling there.  A portable system with Nintendo's games, Monster Hunter and the Square RPGs could thrive.  It would only make sense for Square to put its titles there to maximize sales are the reach of its franchises.

I hope this is true. If so, it [NX] will be rumored to have Kingdom Hearts 3 and Dragon Quest XI. Now if only it gets Final Fantasy VII R, along with Zelda BotW...I'd pass out. These are some high quality games coming to NX. Maybe it isn't what the sources think it is.

Could become true.

Could definitely become my first kingdom hearts.

Zelda is already confirmed for NX, FF 7 remake is a console exclusive for PS4, I believe.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I don't know if it's coming to NX or not but it definitely makes more sense than porting it to xb1
