Lol apparently driveclub has no identity. I'll tell you it's identity. It's the spiritual successor to project Gotham racing.

Driveclub's identity is a pretty but average racer. Nothing more than that.

Pretty average racer with some amazing graphics, that is how I will remember Driveclub. Its like World Driver Championship on the N64, in some cases more enjoyable to look at than actually play.

Ditto, Driveclub isnt a bad game at all and easy to recommend for like 20 bucks. But I have other racers in my collection that are more satisfying.

One GT every 3 years would be more frequent than what we see now.

Forza's annual strategy generated more revenue than GT6. I'm pointing out the advantage of more frequent releases. By the way, I only mentioned the annual strategy of Forza because you were boastng about GT6 sales and how it compares to other games in the genre.

ND puts out games faster than PD. They also create games that will generate more profits via remasters.

Revenue is not profit.

Forza sales are quite disspointing and much of it is bundeling and sales.  Based on quality alone it should be double.  To me FH3 is easily goty.

They also have two large teams working contantly on it.

I wouldnd doubt it for a second GT is a hell of a lot more profitable.  The only logical business reasoning i can think of for Sony allowing PD and the nut job Kaz to go about thing as they have for so long is their profit margins must be some of the best if not the best from all sony devs.

We know Sony has no issue shutting devs down.  Good luck arguing agianst near 80 million sales form a single team, not a massive one at that.

We dont know budgets so we cant talk profits. But greater revenue helps fund the teams constantly working on their biannual release. GT6 has been a bargain bin game for about 2 years now.

We know Forza has two teams, but not exactly AAA size teams. Those games also recycle a lot of content and produce new content that will be used in a future title.

Forza on 360 had mass bundling, but they havent really pushed that on X1.

I'm not suggesting shutting down Polyphony. And I assure you that 80 million figure you threw includes mass bundling.

Well why them not picking Forza 6 versus GT 6 then and only comparing latest release? Or all Forza versus all GT, or all gen 7 forza versus GT? We know why. You want to get a cut were Forza sales were better.

It could, I don't fell the need to more frequent releases, once every 3 years is quite enough. This game alone takes like 6 months of my gaming time or more.

You may think that, we never had any speach of Sony about the releases of GT to evaluate their satisfaction. Funny enough that the small upgrade that is GT6 add more content than Forza 5 did right? And if Sony is so concerned with it they may as well increase the staff of PD. But I guess they are satisfied with the strategy and margin it gets. They don't push ND around neither push PD.

Sony should be more concerned about the lack of releases of Sony Japan Studios.

Yes it would be more frequent, it may happen or not. But from what I remember from GT4, GT5p, GT5 and GT6 there weren't much more than 3 years gap between then.

You are poiting the benefit of greater revenue, but since you have iota information about profit you can't really point it being more profitable or not.

I were boasting? Nope for the 3rd or 4th time, what I said is that even the worst selling GT game still is quite over the competitors and that is against people preaching the franchise is dying. You took it the way you wanted because you want to put the franchise down.

Yes ND does, and their team is 3x bigger than PD.

Yes, my opinion isn't a fact. But the history backs up my opinion that they have been like this and not that they got like this. You don't need to thank.

But I'm yet to see the backing of your opinion that increasing the release pace would be better, the decrease in sales would show otherwise that they need bigger gaps and more content.

History backs up your opinion? The history says sales dropped more than 50%. So... try to understand that and how to fix it? Pretending there isn't a problem really is just ignoring it and hoping it goes away.

Both our opinions are opinions. Nothing but logic or conjecture to them. We use examples to draw paralels, but that is the point of a forum hm? I know you disagree, but the animosity you showed with the previous post was pretty unecessary.

Anyone here said there isn't a problem? Just waiting to know how the solution for a supposed franchise fatigue is to push even more games of it.

What animosity?

Espeically when something like GT6 was a minor upgrade and GT Sport couldn't make the release date.

No it wasn't, it had as much new content as all Forza 5 had on it at launch, maybe more, and that was a generation leap game, GT6 was a "sequel".

Graphical minor upgrade maybe? I also don't think so, tho.

GT6 had 200 cars more than GT5 including the amazing Vision GT cars. It also had new tracks.

Forza 5 had 200 cars less than Forza 4 and just 14 tracks.

I haven't had as much fun with a racer since GT6. driveclub is really that good. And as a big fan of the pgr series it was a joy to behold.

Roll on GT sport. It will be the next best thing.

Well, it doesn't count because of reasons.

From my understanding Forza 5 was built from the ground up. New engine, all new assets, and apparently a short development time. GT6 was GT5 with more content and about 4 years of development. Meanwhile it sounds like GT Sports is still using last gen stuff.

Forza 5 was solid for what it was (an enjoyable sim racer at launch that looked great), but more importantly it was the foundation for FH2, FH3, and Forza 6.

Anywho, I'm getting really bored of this discussion. Again, Don boasted about GT sales. So I pointed out Forza 5 and beyond has moved consideraly more units than GT6 because of its annual strategy. I'm not sure why that turned into nitpicking.

Well you started this discussion about GT6 being a minor upgrade over GT5. I and BraLOD disgreed.

I prefer having more cars and tracks than better looking cars that are much less in quantity. The variety of cars in GT6 is breathtaking and definitely adds a lot to the gameplay. Even more the tracks in a sim racer, as I would guess 14 tracks would get old quickly. I prefer gameplay over graphics.

Not that it matters as it seems Forza 6 has addressed the issues in Forza 5 though a lot less than GT6. It doesn't matter to the consumer if a game is built on new assets. Its the quality of the game that matters. Also GT6 has a much better UI and career than GT5.

As for sales you have to consider that these Forza 5 and 6 and FH2 and 3 were made by different developers and with many new assets in each game. The development costs would have been a lot higher. As you said GT6 uses many assets from GT5 and adds to that so it would be more profitable.
