@bigjon; I agree that the attacks were uncalled for (seriously guys), but don't pretend you're giving the PS3 any credit, seems more like an attempt at disarming it yet again. Analysis is fine, but these PS3 vs Wii ones are getting worn even though many users like to read them and mull over it.
Credit is due where credit is due, but this is not credit, it is showing a huge brandname in a weakened state and playing upon stereotypes concerning fans from both sides.

On topic; I'm not sure what to make of this comparison, but I'm not in the least surprised that the Wii has had a heap more good sales weeks than the PS3, no one should be at this time. Why tell something so obvious? I tell you; sometimes it seems that the hardest Wii fans just love to look at Wii sales numbers and laugh at the competition all day long.
Making threads to compare sales is fine, making basically the same thread over and over again to shout out the same numbers every week is... redundant.
I don't mean to come off as a fanboy, I'm just curious as to why you won't use your skills and time to create more varied content, I find most your threads rather interesting to be honest!

Fair enough. I will try to curb my spur of the moment post. I saw these and thought it was a good picture of the difference in sales. I am going to try and do an editorial sometime this weekend too..... I haven't decided on what yet.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Try harder next time.

^good i havent been keeping track of our bet--i am hoping EU will push me up over 5 mil

Jandre, Leo-j, and Akuma... what a crowd. Three of the biggest PS3 fanboys strike at once. The whole point was to show the difference in sales, not exact numbers.

I havent argued with you, Im just telling you your wrong with your estimates, and how would you know if Im one of the biggest PS3 fanboys? You werent here during my time? You only knew me as zackblue. Hiding something are we?

Shame on you bigjon, you should've known this thread would turn into bloody murder...

.. Because I'm damn sure it will.

I'm sorry I tried so hard to.. I pointed out positive things for PS3, complemented it and still....

You also failed at it, you have yet to change the number to 14.

Why are all of the arguments around here based on results instead of process, anyway? Instead of arguing over the results, why not observe the details of how well the tactics used by each company work (or don't work)? It hardly matters that the Wii has had few bad weeks and the PS3 has had few good weeks; what matters is WHY things have been that way.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

By all means bigjon, keep making threads, you're an astute member of the community! And I really like how you can handle criticism without going bonkers in a time and place where such is rare as gems...

I don't have a problem with sales related threads at all, but the OP has incorrect information and has made several threads based off a flawed premise in the past few days (such as the thread complaining about Eurogamer's score system for the Wii which was not well-researched).

I was definitely a little hostile in my post, but only because this has been a recurring problem among other things the OP has done in the past.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
