Hell, instead of wasting my intelligence trying to argue with Mars I'll say this:

(1) If the Wii IS justa gamecube with waggle, hell, that's kind of sad that it's more fun than the ''entirely new'' PS3. Nintendo can just slap ''waggle'' on an old system and do better than Sony's years of expensive development.

(2)You got to hand it to Nintendo, the point of a business is to make money. And damn, if they can slap ''waggle'' on an old system and make unprecedent profits, dominate the market, and have their best selling system ever, MORE POWER TO THEM. That takes some incredible ingenuity to pull off. Maybe Sony should take lessons.

And for the record, I'm not a Wii fanboy. If someone was blindly bashing the PS3, I'd defend that too. I'm a fanboy of...not being ignorant. So that's what I'll passionately argue against. Ignorance. ;)

the reason I did not compare the 360 is because it has had 3 holidays, so it would be skewed since the only time a year either console can muster 200k in a week is the holidays(or a Euro launch in the PS3's case)

I gotta hand it to you, you got some good points there. It seems for the PS4 instead of having 2000p graphics or whatever the hell else it would have...they should just remake the PS2 with some kind of 3d motion control or something.

Here's another tidbit:

100% of Wii owners bought it to play games.

Less than 100% of PS3 owners did the same thing. It was the cheapest BluRay player out.

The OBVIOUS reason there are a large amount of shovelware titles on the Wii is that no one expected it to sell. Almost no AAA games were in development unless by Nintendo themselves. AAA games take a while to develop, the ones being developed for the PS3 are just starting to surface, and Final Fantasy isn't even close. With no software ready to release, and the Wii as the clear biggest seller, everyone throws sh;t together to get cash in their pockets before the good titles surface. 

People expected Sony to PWN,  then they fell from grace and they expected them to lose. They will wind up pretty well all things considered. But you cannot compare the early life cycles of the software because Sony 3rd parties had quality titles in development, Nintendo 3rd parties did not. 

I stood in line for a whole day to get a PS3 at launch. I wanted to be a fan. There has not YET been much to be a fan of.

The Wii kicked PS3's A$$ with no industry support and lesser titles. And it still is. That can't make a Sony fan feel good.

I understand the frustration of a PS3 owner/fanboy. I was so frustrated I sold my PS3 and bought Wii60. I feel much less anger these days.
