Forums - Nintendo - NX Mock-Up Thread (UPDATED: New Awesome Mock-Ups!)

Done by Chris Ro on NeoGaf, for people having problems visualizing it maybe this gives a better idea. I personally think the screen will be more in the 6-8 inch range though.

This was a really good effort.  I made my own right here: https://youtu.be/yXn8VuC7QIU though that was before the latest rumors (more probably fact than fiction at this point) came out.  I'd have to revise some things, but anyhow, that's what I came up with.  I should also say that in the video, I didn't mention one of my other ideas and that's that the NX Infinite logo I came up with, if put on its side becomes an hourglass that could drop pixels instead of sand, for a loading screen.

I think the screen will have to be reasonably large though to have the whole "gather around and play together on the go!" appeal. 7-inches, probably 8 inches ideally actually.

Which is fine I guess because to get a powerful chip in there you're going to need a very large battery and a very large open space to dissipate all the heat.

It'll have to be about the size of an iPad but thicker.

Hm...that D-Pad and buttons positioning directly below sticks looks really uncomfortable.

Nice mock up minus the colours.

I honestly think the Tablet execution is the key to this being a massive seller.

Looks like a mobile phone. What if it is a mobile phone!

It looks like an Android phone. Please for the love of god don't let this be true...

Could be worse, it could actually look like an iPhone!

Definitely makes the idea a lot better than I expected. The main issue is that the detachable controller doesn't seem like it would be very comfortable. Does look very nice though

I do kinda wonder if they are considering or have already made the choice to add a 3G/4G antenna for mobile game purposes (ie: playing Pokemon Go).

Controllers like that look very VR compatible.

Hadn't even thought of that but you're right. This is fairly close to what I was hoping VR controllers would look like (not enough buttons on many current ones). Are motion controls confirmed? Suppose it would make sense given their history.

I'm starting to like how this is looking. Two of my biggest issues with the Wii U pad were the tv-to-lap focal disconnect and the lack of mobility for such a large controller. With luck, this could fix that, being actually portable with everything right in front of you. If it has touch capacity it could replace your tablet, if it has motion controls it could be ready for both Wii emulation and a VR headset (would need the home unit to power that, of course). Here's hoping.

at 8.44 inches x 3.5 inches the NX seems too big to be portable.

at 3.5 inches x 1.4 inches the detachable remotes seem too small to be comfortable as a home console.
