Hadn't even thought of that but you're right. This is fairly close to what I was hoping VR controllers would look like (not enough buttons on many current ones). Are motion controls confirmed? Suppose it would make sense given their history.
I'm starting to like how this is looking. Two of my biggest issues with the Wii U pad were the tv-to-lap focal disconnect and the lack of mobility for such a large controller. With luck, this could fix that, being actually portable with everything right in front of you. If it has touch capacity it could replace your tablet, if it has motion controls it could be ready for both Wii emulation and a VR headset (would need the home unit to power that, of course). Here's hoping.
