The same rumor of Nvidia TegraNintendo back in 2009 for the Nintendo 3ds

"Speaking under conditions of anonymity, further credible sources from within the mobile graphics industry have provided Digital Foundry with further background detail on the raw technical capabilities of the new hardware. These sources, intimately involved with the alliances and deal-making within their sector, effectively confirm the reported allegiances between Nintendo/NVIDIA and Sony/IMG, but also provide a fascinating insight into the kinds of devices the new handhelds will be, and the power levels we can expect." <----- they were 100% sure... like right now.

"Nintendo's alliance with NVIDIA is an interesting one in that the graphics specialist has already published a developmental roadmap for the evolution of its mobile Tegra technology. Assuming a late 2010 rollout for the new machine, it's fairly easy to peg which iteration of the chipset will find its way into the DS successor's make-up: Tegra 2 will be well into production, and looks like a very useful piece of mobile 3D technology"

looks like they have a tegra fetish.

look i'm not saying that they don't have sources, I'm saying that the system is not announced and we should wait before we lose our minds.

If this rumour is true, we would hear something from Nintendo soon. If not, then it's likely false.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

This is what videogame media does. They hear something and then they roll with it like it's gospel. I remember Jim Sterling writing a blistering rant on Sony ... for copying Nintendo and putting two touchscreens on the PSP2.

It's fine, though. Gives us something to talk about.

A source can be anyone even the man cleaning toilets in Nintendo's headquarters that happens to hear two people mention Tegra. Multiple sources mean nothing when anonymous that's a classic thing people learn in media, I'm more inclined to believe someone like Super Metal Dave because he actually proved himself and often mentions when he is speculating.

It seems to much like what rumours have already been pointing to and too much info that just makes sense, I doubt its not true, eurogamer has had hits and misses in the past but usually does have decent enough reason to post something like this, I a guessing, sadly, that its true

but only time will tell in the end.

There is two touch screens on the Vita though... one isn't a touch screen so to speak but it does have the same digitizer that a screen would have, just on the back of the system for making pinching motions in LBP to pinch those platforms!

Here's my system for rumours and it works great.

Always take all rumours as being false, before taking anything away from them, look at it first and just think... this is not true, but lets read over where the origin of the rumour may have come from, there might be some scraps of intelligent thought in the rumour but they could have been taken the wrong way by the person who put the rumour together.

Like above, psp2 going to have 2 touchscreens... is from an incorrect rumour, but the Vita did turn out to have 2 touch sensitive area's on the console for controlling the games, the rumour about carts being used in the NX is a strange one, but based on the facts of mantronics projections for next year it seems somewhat based in reality.

Always look to where a rumour originated from... that is where the drop of truth might be had, and yes I think eurogamer and their sources are indeed, full of shit.

Seems like you and Super Metal Dave are just upset to me.

Eurogamer is more reliable with their rumors than most considering they were the first ones who reported on Neo/Scorpio I believe. But with that being said, rumors are still rumors and they aren't immune to nonsense either.

A touchscreen and a touchpad!  His quoted source was a blog that misinterpreted the patent for the Vita.  He took that as truth and went off on the Vita for being a copy of the 3DS.  Most of the comments believed him automatically, which shows how rumors can balloon into "fact", until a few people went and checked the real souce or heard the actual truth elsewhere.
