Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is doomed, a personal story.

=O You never used the Nintendo forums before they were shut down? Traitor!!! Haha jk! :P God I miss that place :'( The ranking system was so awesome as well. They even had live chat rooms and everything. It's that community that I have to thank for getting me into Resident Evil and I've made some really good online friends back then in those days :3

That's why I like vgchartz a lot, it reminds me of the good old times!

Nintendo is not doomed, they just need to start changing their bussiness model and appeal to audience that is not a hardcore Nintendo fan, cause that's the only audience they got right now. Getting third parties to develop games for their consoles is a good start.

Maybe it's because I'm on VGC, a forum where Nintendo fans are heavily represented, but I don't see that many users dooming Nintendo. There are a few, but there are also a few Nintendo fans that are equally bad in the other direction. Honestly, the occassions where Nintendo doom posts are most prevalent are when we get positive Nintendo news, and then we get some Nintendo fans saying "Nintendo: doomed since 1889" or something like that.

Like I said, there are a few, but not many. Or maybe I'm just subconciously ignoring them because I know Nintendo aren't doomed, so I don't worry.

Actually, vgchartz has one of the best gaming forums so I'm not talkin about this place, I'm talking about the internet in general.

Its tribalism at its finest. In reality Nintendo will be here long after we are all dead. People just don't want to admit it.

I've been a gamer since I was 5 years old, A Nintendo gamer. I've been using the internet and forums since I was 11 (IGN forums back then in 2005)

Since then, I've experienced the same thing everytime Nintendo unveils a new console or handheld, what thing? "Nintendo is doomed, crazy and it's over for them" threads and articles from left to right. As a child, I was scared, didn't know better and always thought that my favorite company was going to dissapear. But now, now I understand, cause I see a new generation of "Nintendo is over" new kids and adults saying the same stuff. Because now, that mindset is an ideology and I'm pretty sure existed before me, too. I know this, my lil cousin told me "Nintendo sucks their games are shit" while he was playing happy wheels, I was heartbroken :'(

It's annoying for those who are Nintendo fans, but we will have to live with that forever, so it's important to understand that a community of gamers are toxic and they expect the death of Nintendo. I'm not talking about those who genuinely want a third party Nintendo because they are not going to buy a console for exclusives, I'm talking about those who really hate Nintendo and are happy when they fail.

"It's over for them, it's going to flop, they can't compete, game over" just accept those words, and you're going to be happy, forever. Don't take it too personal and long story

All Nintendo needs to do is release a Shoulder Camera onto the market and your search woes will be over.

Google search:   Sony should...

sony shoulder strap
  • sony shoulder mount camera
  • sony should buy nintendo
  • sony shoulder camera
  • Press Enter to search.

To be fair, I've always thought Nintendoom thing started on the modern Nintendo. Even when we look back at the SEGA stand-offs, or the first videogame crash, people really had a fond memory of Nintendo. The view on it started warping after the Gamecube, I'd say, when their console struggled in the market and the Wii changed altogether (most) people's perception of Nintendo.

The girl playing the NES at 3:30 ... Nintendo claims that girl gamers exist... girl has right hand on dpad. I'm screaming internally at her so hard she might hear it back 26 years ago in 1990 lol.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I have no beef with Nintendo, but it's clear they have gone astray. I think their problem was actually the Wii, because it showed them they could make it with gimmicks. But these things are usually like lightning in a bottle. Much like the pokemon go thing. They can't be replicated.

Now added to that is the way they supported or not the Wii U. I think the mismanagement and undermining of their own console system is what ultimately will lead to a very steep road back up. Customer trust was lost with the Wii U. Few and far between games with the loom of a new system way before it was ready for reveal killed the trust many of us had on Nintendo. Sega didn't recover from that, but Nintendo still has the portable market.
So, the recent rumors about the NX beeing more portable than console are actually good, assuming a good price point. In the home console front there is no going back, i don't think.

I always thought it was because Nintendo made not very good hardware that people said they should go third party.

They do! although I don't care if they are not number 1. They could be successful without being the best seller!

I'm excited cause it looks like the nx is going to be the most powerful handheld ever!

They can be successful without selling more than PlayStation, but I am not of the opinion that Nintendo should settle for #2 when they have the IPs, talent, funds and worldwide recognition to be #1. Nintendo themselves should have the same aspirations.

I've seen a similar sentiment being expressed in the recent past, but back then it looked like a poster would have to explicitly say the words "Nintendo is doomed" while all possible variations and implications of it did not qualify as doom posts. I think you aren't doing the same here.

You are probably ignoring them, because the recent news of Pokémon Go success spawned plenty of threads and posts that said that Nintendo should go third party. That is, of course, a variation of "Nintendo is doomed". The sheer number of those posts made them hard to be overlooked, but if you always chuckle at them or simply ignore them for being nonsensical, then they aren't as much of an issue.

    Frogs are creatures of habit.

Nintendo will always be doomed in the eyes of certain individuals.
