Forums - Gaming - Does Pokemon Go show that MS was wise to back AR??.

AR is great for people when its on mobile, because they already have all the hardware they need. Add a killer app like Pokemon Go for free and you're good to go. But selling people expensive as fuck hardware for AR to use only in their homes? I don't see it happening.

Sorry, it's more 'does PoGo show that Ninty was right to go mobile' instead that 'MS was wise to back AR'

It's not AR the selling point, it's F2P Pokemon !

because it is Pokemon, i don't see other franchise will be as fun as Pokemon Go did in terms of AR experience

No....:/ ( See everyone else's reason.)

AR in phones is going to be really big (mostly for social features, not really games).

AR in consoles for big title games? no. Its worse off than VR is.

Maybe... if the plan is to get the "headset" as thin and light as a pair of sun glasses, that you can hook up to your smart phone (which in the future is powerfull enough for that sort of thing). AND if MS want to then go ahead and make a Pokemon clone for mobile phones that uses AR.

Unfortunately this hs nothing to do with AR. Peopl ussing it bably dont even AR even is.

At one point in the future, both will be used at the same time.

People don't love AR games. People love hype and being social.

This right here.

Where is that poster that has kept reminding me of what I said about AR vs VR?
