Forums - Sony Discussion - I Just Demo'd the PSVR: Ask me Anything

I have several questions.
1) Was the somewhat lower resolution an issue at all
2) Was framerate sufficient/did it cause motion sickness.
3) How bad was the screen door affect?
4) I've heard some people say that there might be an issue with move constantly wanting to calibrate/losing connection. Is this an issue at all?

Did you use the Move controllers?

If so, how is the quality compared to the Wii remote?

They are there, but no one used them.

Azuren, listen to me. I know it sounds crazy but you're still trapped inside the vr.

Do I need to comment on the quality of the support I received?

Definitely

I tried it at best buy a few weeks back and it was fun but sorta weird.

VR is definitely a strange experience.

How is the experience in cinema mode? Is it comfortable?

Enjoyable and comfortable.

Does it have healing powers?

No, but it will be included in the final retail release.

Be Real with us Azuren, did you get a little sicky poo?

No, I'm used to VR now.

1. No, but higher resolution would have been welcomed.

2. For some people, yes.

3. Not as bad as the DKS2, but it would benefit from a bump in resolution.

4. Nope, we went through about three hours of demoing without a single hitch.

Do you still feel like you're in it even when you get out? That happened to me years ago with a driving simulator.

What was the best game you played on it? The worst?

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I can't say 100% yes or no, because the time each of us were limited to wasn't enough to get too heavily immersed.

I only got to play the super something sometime cube game, but the EVE Valkyrie game stole the demo for everyone.

I call that the running machine effect, the feeling of movement even after it's stopped...

How long was the effect when you got out of the driving simulator? I guess VR stuff is a bit weird on the brain, and it might be the case of training the brain to get used to it?

I'm really looking forward to getting VR, but the wife is buying it me for an Xmas present (got it for release day) and has said I cannot play it :( I could try it at work, but I dont want to ruin the experience.... 1st world problems :(

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Callie or Marie?

Was this your first VR experience?

Did you get to try the Move controllers in VR and if so how well do they work?

Was there much in the way of 'walking' in the games or was it pre-dominantly standing/seated experiences?

Looking forward to this as it'll be a while before I can afford the Vive and a new GPU so I'm hoping this will be a good stop-gap. In fact, by the time I can afford it all I suspect gen 2 Vive's will be out.

No.

The controllers are present, but none of the demos utilized them.

Mostly "Standing" type stuff, though the EVE demo let you fly around.
