I cannot see this going well.

Thats your opinion. For me Sticker Star is better than TTYD.

Uh nope, those are facts, and just saying they aren't wont make it so. Anyone with two eyes can see that Color Splash is Sticker Star 2 in every way so I shouldn't even need to explain this for the 100th time. Sticker Star lacks partners, FP, story, badges, experience points, characters, special moves, variety of items, variety in action commands, a reason to even fight battles, and so ons, this is undeniable. As for Super Paper Mario, again anyone can clearly see it's gameplay is that of a platformer unlike every other Paper Mario game with turn based combat systems.

I just don't understand the hate for this game.

I'll bet you understand the hate for Federation Force though. It's the same thing except way worse since this is the mainseries and not just a one-of spin-off, and the gameplay is not only shallow but broken even, where you're better off not fighting battles.

SS had a terrible story, everything else about it was unique for the series (and some parts were unique to any game). PM and TTYD, as great as they were, were incredibly similar to each other and other rpg games. I enjoy each Paper Mario for what it offers (except for the SS story which was terrible) and them saying this about the CP story makes me excited. SPM had one of the best stories (emotionally) I've ever played in a Nintendo game.

So are you denying that Color Splash is exactly like Sticker Star or what? Also unique =/= good. Sure there was never a Paper Mario game prior to Sticker Star that had no characters, no story, and no reason to fight battles, but you cannot honestly tell me those are good changes for the series.

If it is as good as they say, I could get teary eyed with this then. Maybe. I must be getting softer, being moved rather easily from the games and things I've been watching these days.

I'll cry knowing how terrible the game will be, and knowing we'll never see the good old days.
If I ever plan on buying this, definitely buying used.

I agree with first two, but not third. I actually enjoyed the uniqueness lf the stickers.

They have to defend their last exclusive Wii U title, and the only one for the holiday season.

What are you disagreeing with here? The fact that battles have no benefits and thus are better off avoided isn't something to agree or disagree with, it just is. You keep saying unique and uniqueness (without ever explaining what's unique about it) as if that automatically means good, which it doesn't. Resource management isn't new to Paper Mario, you've always had items FP SP and BP to manage.

Also you're continuing to avoid acknowledging your double standard, where it's bad for the Mario & Luigi series to stick to their same core gameplay but somehow okay for Paper Mario to do the exact same thing. The whole reason I quoted you is to point this out.

Yeah I did hear that they're focusing on story while being like Sticker Star. Can't wait for this one. And yes, I've played every Paper Mario and this one seems like good fun. No PM64 or TTYD but it'll be fun.

^^^

All these "purests" that can't appreciate when Paper Mario truly stands for; creativity and innovation (which is only allowed when you don't continue making the same game over and over like the M&L series, which has become quite stagnant).

C'mon man. We're not "purists" for enjoying the first two games of a series and not the next two. The first two were fantastic, with great plots, great sidekicks, and a great battle system. And they were different. They changed it up in TTYD. The next two were trash. They tried to change too much about what made the first two great. They ruined the battle system. The plot sucked balls. And the sidekicks were lame AF. They just need to go back to their roots.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Well it's kinda like the Banjo-Kazooie syndrom - The change in nature and genre of the serie is a pill gamers aren't swallowing easy, even though the serie remains creative and innovative. It's juste that it worked so good with the first two...

Unless you're talking about Super Paper Mario then it's the not the same as Banjo Kazooie who completely changed genres. Sticker Star is as different from Thousand Year Door as TTYD is from the original. They just went in different directions is all, with TTYD adding and building onto the concept, while Sticker Star just took things away. Also, despite being way more different, Super Paper Mario does not get nearly as much hate, so a change in nature/genre is not the pill we're having trouble swallowing.
