Unless you're talking about Super Paper Mario then it's the not the same as Banjo Kazooie who completely changed genres. Sticker Star is as different from Thousand Year Door as TTYD is from the original. They just went in different directions is all, with TTYD adding and building onto the concept, while Sticker Star just took things away. Also, despite being way more different, Super Paper Mario does not get nearly as much hate, so a change in nature/genre is not the pill we're having trouble swallowing.
