Gamefreak.

I find the way the handled the IP appalling.

I think they handle Pokemon quite well.

The battle system is more polished than ever, and Pokemon games are still a blast. Pokemon designs aren't become bland, and each game always has new things to offer.

Only thing I dislike is how they don't release many games besides Pokemon. Harmo Knight proved that they're capable of more than Pokemon

They have released an absurd number (yes, number, not amount) of Pokemon games over the years. Those games still sell extremely well so they have no reason to develop games with such terrible graphics (the 3ds is more capable than that), terrible plot, characters devoid of personality, copy and paste enemies and (some) terrible looking Pokemon. Let's not forget the lack of proper console RPG (like Nino Kuni) or MMO that fans have been begging for.

The whole "we'll make 2 versions so you can trade with your friends" is absolutely ridiculous. It "forces" families to buy the game twice, as well as people who are really into it and "gotta catch 'em all".

The battle system hasn't changed enough since Pokemon Blue. The entire time I felt "been there done that".

The lack of a proper budget for such highly successful games makes me see Gamefreak as one of the greediest companies in business.

Buying a 3ds for Pokemon Y was my biggest regret as a gamer.

So are you saying that Nintendo is milking consumers because its hardware is less powerful than the competition? And that it's also guilty of milking because Nintendo hardware is required to play Nintendo software?

Yes. Not only milking but also being bad for the environment. I mean do we really need to waste our precious rare minerals and pile on even more plastics because Nintendo refuses to just get it over with and go 3rd party? It really is sickening if you think about it.

Wow. Just wow. By that logic Sony should have just rolled over in the nineties and never ever even entered the console market. Seeing that Nintendo was the overwhelmingly most popular platform with the most games at the time and Sony had no way of knowing how much of a runaway success the playstation would be. I mean think of how the environment suffered as a result? All those ps1 and ps2 not to mention ps3 and 4s could have been avoided?

And what the fuck is microsoft doing in the console business anyways? They make a redundant box that never once won a generation and largely plays the same games as Sonys.  It's really sickening if you think about it.....

Between Activision, Capcom, Konami and Valve (CS:GO).

Uhh...you know the internet is a thing?

Also, yes, the plot in XY is horrible compared to Black and White. I think that BW could have been regarded as one of the best games if the plot was focused on a lot more. BW also didn't have the broken exp share, offered a hard mode, and introduced new elements to the battle system(which has improved a lot over time). Perhaps you don't realize such changes due to some reason I can't think of.

The games are still great, regardless of whether they make 20 games a year or 1 per generation. They finally stopped doing annual releases, so there's that. The change from XY to Sun/Moon is obvious. The 3DS is weak, and they'll probably surprise us all with a beautiful game with the NX. Always wanted a pokemon game on Unreal Engine, but anything that looks good is fine with me.

Not to mention the fact that you placed Gamefreak above EA and Activision Do you truly think the Pokemon series is more horrendous than EA sports?

Needing two version of pokemon each cycle to get all the pokemon is pretty damn milking I must say.

Probably not as much as EA/Activision - but that is what came to my mind right away.

To be fair, the internet makes that issue nonexistent.

Since they have the internet, I think they should now make the versions have slightly different plots.

If you add the price of the console just to play a few Nintendo games, then Nintendo.

You have to be severely dishonest with yourself if you think Nintendo milks consumers more than EA.

My point is that in order to play a few great Nintendo games, they force me pay an expensive and outdated gimmick hardware that can't play any Multiplat I like to play like Far Cry, The witcher, Metal gear solid or battlefront only because their costy hardware sucks and can't run those games.

Because Nintendo always wanted to make big profit from the hardware so they milk their hardcore customers and force them to buy their Mario/Zelda box that somehow always look how the games looked on the previous generation of consoles.

EA didn't milk me. I bought Battlefront for the spectacle and was not disappointed (at least for the spectacle). They didn't force me to pay a whole new console + accessories in order to play it. My rant can also apply for the Wii. They made billions with the Wii. Did they re-invest this money to make better hardware and modern software? Definitely no. Since the Wii, Nintendo is the most greedy videogame company I objectively know. From my point of view.

Well... I wouldn't call Gamefreak or Nintendo greedy in this situation. It's just a classic case of a developer that didn't need to improve because their fans keep telling them that their work is still perfect by the constant high sales and moderate to high critical reception.

I know it sucks for you, but pokemon has the same formula every time because the market hasn't shown any sign it wants it to change, and gamefreak is delivering what it ostensibly wants.

.- -... -.-. -..

EA, Ubisoft, Activision...

Nintendo too, if you want to count all the goofy specific peripherals and chargers and amiibos. The original Wii-mote was a joke. It drained batteries when you weren't even using it.

Gameloft. You guys are thinking big platforms. Gameloft is the worst by far!
