How's the Sale going for you? And what about the badge, have you made it? (I know that you have it Conina )

Summer Picnic Lvl 6 7, working on Lvl 7 8 ;)

So far I bought

  • €3.59 - The Last Door: Season 2
  • €3.99 - Nekopara Vol. 1
  • €1.24 - The Room
  • €4.99 - Heaven's Hope
  • €4.99 - Sakura Swim Club
  • €3.09 - HuniePop
  • €2.71 - BioShock Triple Pack*

So around €25 so far (minus ~€10 for some sold backgrounds + trading cards).

The best way to browse through the deals is via SteamDB: https://steamdb.info/sales/?merged=true&min_discount=60&min_rating=90

You can adjust the minimal discount and minimal ratings by slider, add tags (f.e. genres) and sort the result by clicking on one of the headings. You can also hide games you already own, if you log in.

* I already had BioShock 2 + Infinite on Steam, so I got a discount for BioShock 1 by chosing the Triple Pack. Now I'm set up for the free Remastered-upgrade: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/264892/owners-of-bioshock-or-bioshock-2-on-steam-get-remastered-version-free/

I'm still level 0 . But I don't use to buy-sell cards, so it's harder that way.

Currently, I've only bought two games:

  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Ultimate Edition_ 6,24€
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky_ 7,99€

I'm thinking about buying GTA IV Complete as I didn't manage to play the Episodes of Liberty City and to try some mods (once I get a new GPU).

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Are you sure? Don't you also need Minerva's Den, the DLC for Bioshock 2?

And are we eligible if we buy any of the games after the remaster upgrade promotion was announced?

According to Steam, I also have Minerva's Den:

If I remember correctly, you get that DLC for free when you redeem the retail version of BioShock 2 at Steam (just enter the reg key of the retail version in Steam), because they moved their DRM from GfWL to SteamWorks.

Edit: Yeah, Minerva's Den was (is?) free: http://www.pcgamer.com/bioshock-2-moves-to-steamworks-minervas-den-dlc-on-steam-and-free-for-existing-owners/

Cool. I have a retail copy of Bioshock 2 in my house somewhere. I'd really like to play at least Minerva's Den. Plus I haven't completed Infinite yet. Such epic games.

Sorry, I was confused. I'm targeting Steam level 100, not Summer Badge level 100!

Haha, yeah, that makes more sense (but it seems like at least an equally daunting task). Once you reach your target level of 100 though, you'll probably receive enough booster packs to fund quite a few games per year without having to actually spend a dime. I'll check out that plugin too!

I don't think they drop very often even at lvl 100. I'm lvl 49 and I estimate I get about two booster pack drops per year.

Depends on how many and what games you have eligible.

Will you really play more of that old game when there's a new and better one out?

I really loved Lords of Shadow. What an atmosphere and beautiful story.

I've only bought 3 games so far:

Downwell, about 1.5 Euro
Travels of MarcoPolo lol a very basic point & click, maybe 2 Euro
Stardew Valley, like everyone else for about 11 Euro. But from first impression I don't like it.

I'll buy plenty more later.

Probably also depends on how many badges you make in general.

Yeah, I have about 3-400. But I doubt that affects it much.

Eligible should mean all the games you have made badges for, right? So it's quite proportional to your level.

I found it far too time consuming to buy and sell cards to really level up high. I have better things to do.

Rockstar/Take2 pissed me off last summer when, instead of not including the recently launched GTA V in the sales, something perfectly acceptable and even understandable, they decided to trick buyers claiming a 20% (I think) off sale of the game when what they did was remove the option to buy the game and have a bundle of the game with some of the virtual money from GTA Online, which cost the same as the base game before the sale.

I didn't liked it, and decided to not buy GTA V until it goes below 10€, whenever that happens (I can wait).

Stardew Valley looks good, but from the few gameplay videos I've seen, it's not my time of game.

Eligible is all the games you have received all the card drops for. Doing a quick check of your Steam profile, you have 100 eligible games, give or take. Every tenth Steam level, your overall drop rate chance increases by 20%.

You can have 100 eligible games without crafting any badge, as long as you have played your games enough to receive all the card drops (about half of the required cards to craft the lvl 1 badge).
