Why can't people be happy with what they have (or with what they will be receiving)?

Petitions, or how I thought of them originally, were used when a group feel disenfranchised and they want change. When I equate that to videogames, RE5 on the Wii screams of greed more than anything else.

The Wii has 2 Resident Evil's to its name already (with another port on its way). Why take away resources in making a remake/port of this game when that time and money can be spent in creating new IP for the Wii that can be just as good?

Wrong. If I claimed it was Nintendo's franchise, I would have claimed it should ONLY be on the Wii. The bolded comment is clearly not that, so that is not what I'm claiming. My claim is that the Wii deserves it just as much as the others, because it is just as likely to sell well.

How is that claiming the series belongs to Nintendo? If Capcom chooses to put the game on the Wii AND THE OTHER SYSTEMS NOT MADE BY NINTENDO, that's supposed to magically mean that Nintendo owns the series somehow?

LordTheNight,a personal guess I have is Capcom will port RE5 to Nintendo´s next home console (expected to be HD and at least on par with PS3/360,technically speaking) while making more RE spin offs for Wii...personally I´d love a RE2

I guess a port on the Wii about a year after the first version, since it would take about that time to downgrade the graphics. Capcom shows they don't mind downgrading a game, despite some talk by a few people.

That's just a guess. I will not insist that is going to happen. The only thing I'm insisting is that it could happen (just as a coin could land on heads or tails).

Bingo. I too can't really afford two consoles. Hell, I can't really afford one, what wit the paying for grad school and massive loan debt and all that. I'd rather petition for RE5 to come out for the Wii than spend the extra wad of money I don't have to get a system that has many fewer games I want, even though the number of games I'd want is greater than 1.

The reason I prefer the Wii despite my unhappiness games like RE5 won't be on it it twfold. 1) There are still more games I ant for the wii than either other system. 2) For the most part I want those games more than the ones on the other system, irregardless of total number of games wanted. Twilight Princess, MP3 and SMG were all must owns for me. With the exception of RE5, there's aren't any must owns for any of other systems, just a handful of games I'd like to have. I'd buy those games if they were on the system. Conversely, like good killer aps, I bought the Wii to play the aforementioned games.

All this being said, though, if the PS3 had both RE5 and a hypothetical-but-never-ever-will-happen Chrono Trigger 3, it would probably be enough for me to buy that system and get some of those gamesI like but aren't (specifically for myself) killer aps--MGS4, GTAIV, etc.

So much thinkings in something purely based in business and localization,Capcom is not dumb,they (supposedly) take their software business decisions with a corporative objective,that's why they don't release avery single game they have in all the platforms,they surely decide with coldness what kind of game goes for every system.

And about the petitions,I don't feel so warm about this,minus with Capcom,they don't say ahything about Bionic Commando on Wii,and they give a shit about the online petitions about a Resident Evil for PSP (and let me remember to all of you that they say the same -getting old by now- "sign it,we're watching...perhaps.." meeehhh...or what about Dead Rising for PS3?or the non-release for DMC 4 in 360?Even being for many different purposes,Capcom say something but shows the other thing...

But hell,I believe it would be cool for Wii's owners to play RE5.

I don't know why people see a Wii port as "greedy".

Are you bothered by the thought of the playing field somehow being leveled between the HD consoles and the Wii? Does it make you scared to think the HD consoles might lose their forced niche as the Wii gets their games too?

All that i'm saying is that it's pretty clear Capcom's xbox/ps strategies are quite different from their wii strategy (just look at whats announced/out for the wii). while it would be good for people who swear by the wii controls, i don't see any evidence of this happening... just wishful thinking on the part of wii owners.

i could see this game on nintendo's next console, though.
