Dead Rising 4 wasn't known about and that's something MS could have mentioned before. MCC, X1 BC, Rare Replay, Gears Ultimate, Killer Instinct launched months after announced. I'm sure you'll find numerous other examples in the past and that's something I've mentioned in the past, MS's E3 often announces some titles coming relatively soon while Sony's announcments tend to be more long term.

So,  3 of the 5 examples you gave are Remasters which are easy to release, 1 example is Backwards compatibility that is  in some kind linked to remaster, and 1 game and I'm sure that Sony also had more than 1 game announced close to release.

Forza isn't a example because the game now is a yearly franchise so of course they will announce and release in the same year.

I gave you numerous recent example. I'm sure I could find other examples from MS doing announcments shortly before release, but I don't feel like researching all their E3 shows.

There are numerous annual IPs that don't get announced as close to release. Also, Forza games differ greatly annually. So announcments don't need to be months away from release. Look at the Forza Horizon 3 trailer and Forza 6 trailer. Very different experiences, could be treated as different IPs.

I don't think they're running out of exclusives, but I would very much like a 3d platformer adding to their roster, Blinx the Timesweeper!!!!

Or Banjo, take your pick!

We need more 3d platformers!

I would like more conker.

Oh boy, that's not a lot to go with. Sounds like he's just speaking expeditiously and doesn't want to give exact details.

Hence, you're reading too much into his statement. Again, I believe there is more happening than you think.

I'm sorry, what? You think the woman who is in charge of MS first party publishing lied about how many games they have in development to make it seem like they have less going on then they actually do? Despite the fact that her lie doesn't, and won't benefit MS at all?

You're really comfortable with ignoring information taken directly from the horses mouth because it doesn't fit what you HOPE is going on? That is, litteraly textbook confirmation bias.

Edit: Just to be clear, it's still crazy that you were so ready to ignore the given evidence because it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

Lied? Don't companies generally mislead people about whats in the works? They often deny rumors even when they are true. You never noticed that?

Calm down buddy. I bet a few things in the works that haven't been revealved are Halo 3 Anniversary, Forza 7, Gears 5, Halo 6, and maybe Rare titles. Furthermore, MS is always funding 3rd party projects.

Its funny, you're actually getting upset because I don't believe MS is telling us everything in the works. Lets just wait and see.

Video games take a long time to make. As I pointed out in an earlier post, any game that they started making after that statement was made, probably woudn't even be shown until E3 2018 at the earliest. That would mean a huge dip in their first and second party output after the end of 2017, since they didn't appear to be making much to replace their current roster of games once they launched.

The number she gave is the number of (what we thought were first/second party) games currently in development. That isn't very many when you consider the number of them that are due out in the next 9-12 months.

You need to look up the definition of bias. Because that is NOT what bias is. Then, after that, you need to go read the OP. Which says nothing about the next 5 years.

So, for tonights homework;

1. Look up bias. Read the definition, and examples.

2. Read the OP from start to finish. Actually do that twice, just for good meassure.

Nothing you stated changes that you are making assumptions on very limited information.  Your statements assume that you understand how MS timeline works with their game publishing and development.  Do you even know the cycle it takes to get a project fully going for MS studios projects.  You state games take a long time but each game does not take the same amount of time as each have different scope, development and planning.

Also when you state 14 games is not a lot, I am wondering what you are comparing that to.  Are you comparing that to how much Nintendo or Sony produce as a company themselves within a set time frame or are you comparing that to the total number of projects coming to one specific platform.  14 projects sounds like a lot for just one Studio and even then we find out this is only MS externally funded First party content.

I actually do not need to reread the OP since it was clear that the OP was basing their opinion on limited information, making assumption on their own limited knowledge of how the MS Studio inner workings and taking one statement from one person who only works for extenal projects and using that as a basis for their opinion.  Maybe if the OP had did their homework they would have know that they were using information on only one part of MS game publishing unit.
