Forums - Gaming - Eurogamer: Microsoft's mixed messages at E3 aren't pretty for Xbox One owners

I agree with eurogamer except that Scalebounds graphics look bad, it looks better than gears of war 4 to me which they are claiming to look better. Espacially the giant enemies is something most other games are lacking

At this point no body cares anymore wich console is more powerfull, Playstation simply have all the 3rd party suport in the word and an impressive line up of exclusives. If anyone want to upgrade to Neo or Scropio they will most likely choose the Neo (and if the rumors are tru the Neo launches before the Scorpio wich would be even worse for MS). Most ppl wont bother with neither one of those consoles tough.

With all do respect, the sales gap is 2:1, not 10:1. MS is still a strong competitor and has strong 3rd party support (just look at EA access and every EA game coming out first on X1 as a single example).

People said the same about the 360 - everyone and their mates had one, surely the X1 would be the natural 'next step', nope, it reversed. Let's wait and see.

This is not a new generation tough, they are premium highly expensive upgrades to the existing gen, they won't have that big of an impact, not for some years at least. I fully expect the regular PS4 and the Slim XOnes to sell more or at least as much as the Neo and the Scorpio. The userbase Sony has build already guarantees 3rd parties will make sure theire games will run smoothly on the Neo even if it is weaker (think X360 x PS3, the later was more powerfull and if the devs took the time and effort to optmize for it it was evident, however no 3rd party ever did that cause the biger userbase was on the 360) and by the time these 2 consoles launch Sony's lead will be around 2.3-2.5 x 1.

Also the MS shift towards full PC suport makes one wonder why would he buy a Scorpio when he could simply buy a gaming PC with similar or superior specs.

1) Release a new slim, tell people you have a better console comeing in a year (like 30minutes after)
2) Dont have a 4k TV, Scorpio wont do anything for you.
3) Scorpio wont have any exlusives. Then afterwards, scorpio will have exlusives.
4) Scorpio will be 4k, then afterwards "its up to devs, they can make 1080p for it".

MS is all over the place.

Sony atleast is decent at communicating their message.

This circus is getting hilarious by the second.

I just don't understand how MS could blow this thing up like a fucking amateur. The big difference with X1 launch and this is that there's no Don Mattrick to make fun of. :P

The message was clear:

"You can play all these games on your PC, but we also have new Xboxes for you to buy"

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I'll say this for XBox One only owners ... it could be worse, you could be a Wii U owner.

At least XOne at minimum will get 5 years of pretty solid support, even with Scorpio next year, XBOne is pretty much guaranteed one more year of all the top third party games and it will be able to play all first party MS content too.

If it gets five years ... what's really the problem. We all know the XOne was a flawed console from conception, MS not moving ahead with Scorpio does no one any real favors other than Sony.

The part about the whole E3 show for me was the games they showed off, Gears looked absolutely Phenomenal but... was that the X1 Gears or was it the W10 Gears, I know which version I would put up on the big screen to show off if I was MS, just means that X1 gamers are going to end up playing a "downgraded" version of the games shown on stage there.

Agree with OP though, I said it right after their E3 show ended.
-Buy the new X1 Slim! look at it's sexy form and price
-Here are all the games for the system... running on Windows 10 (with improved graphics and no XboxLive Gold sub required)
They end the show with.
-Oh, and if you were still thinking of buying that sexy little X1 Slim we showed you which won't have any games of its own, will cost you €50 a year to play online. Well here is another version of the same console, but with a ton more power, coming in 18 months time.

ENJOY.

Also now there is news that those W10 games might well be coming to Steam so you don't even have to put up with the awful Windows Store to get access to the X1 Library, Just utterly mess of a show in terms of making buyers of their System feel justified in their purchase or in convincing others that Xbox is the place to go if you want great games.

Edit - No real Halo news either, was crossing my fingers for a MCC or H5:Guardians W10 port with all the PC love they were giving off, but nope, nothing shown, if it wasn't for Halo Wars 2 the E3 would have probably set a record for MS's first outing at E3 without showing the Chief :)

ms message was clear at e3
even xbone 1 slim are  killing ps4 at amazon

Sony are doomed!!!!!

Developing a game with the normal Xbox One/Xbox One S at say 1080P and then for the Xbox One Scorpio would essentially be like making it for 2 seperate platforms. So either the developer has to put in much more time and money into making two versions, or the difference between the Scorpio version and the normal version will be not as drastic due to the 4k version being gimped and hindered by the non-Scorpio version.

What happened to the MS that handled the 360? Despite the RROD they made significant gains in Europe and Japan. Who ran the division back then? Why haven't they brought them back.

I watched the conference and was not confused. I am excited for the new Xbox Slim and the possibilities of Scorpio.

Most (educated) buyers/gamers will research before they make a purchase, especially an expensive one. Average consumers will see a $299 Xbox Slim or discounted $270/$250 original Xbox One, $299 PS4 (most likely) this holiday and make a decision based on pricing and game libraries, friends, and so on. Unlike us they probably do not even care or know about the upcoming mid-gen upgrades or the new Nintendo console because there is little to no info.

The sad part is if people start researching or google info about the upcoming consoles they will be directed to forums and gaming site where we constantly bicker based on bias or mixed loyalties. No real info or pricing will even be available until later next year.

I am trading my current Xbox One in for a Slim because I have an awesome 4k tv and the slim is the cheapest 4K BR player on the market that also up-scales, plays my games, and uses my controllers.

Scorpio, Neo and NX specs/pricing will determine my interest and possible purchases in the future.
