I don't want them to be doomed but they should use AMD its the same as the ps4/xb1 and porting will be easy. One of the reasons Wii U failed was that porting games was difficult.

It was for the PS3 as well, but that didnt keep developers away from it...

Third party games sold well on Sony consoles and continued to sell well on the PS3. Third-party sales were decent for the Gamecube but for the Wii and Wii U they have been horrible now making it hard to port games to the NX wont end well.

I do feel like Nintendo has very bad timing again, though we have to wait until we know more about the hardware. Just like Wii-U should have launched a few years earlier, even if it just hade been a "Wii HD"(looking at the hardware i still think they hade the console planned for an earlier release but postponed it due to the gamepad).

Thats the biggest problem. Publishers dont think their games will sell on Nintendo consoles. Making it easier to port their games wont change much. It would still take money and manpower.

But making it cheaper to port games will encourage more third parties to at least give the NX a shot at launch.

Maybe, but it would have to be very cheap and incredibly easy to do.

Something people want + interesting then.

Unique is overrated.

Unique is overrated.

That makes them exactly like everyone else, which hurt them with gamecube.  Unique + Something people want is when they had the most success.

The Wii U's gamepad is unique.

The Wii motes for the wii, raised intrest amoung the casuals.

Wii was all 3 (unique, raised intrest, and something people wanted).

If you ask alot of Wii U owners, most will tell you they like the gamepad (I prefer the pro controller).

So the gamepad is something people want, but the general public isnt intrested in it.

Unique + something people want, isnt enough.
