Forums - Sony - Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, and 3 being fully remastered for PS4

What does "remastered from the ground up for the PS4" even mean. I am confused.

It's more of a remake than a remaster.

Idk dude... They said remaster... They are probably gonna change everything in terms of graphics and etc but I doubt they are gonna change the levels and etc enough to call it a "remake" hence the name...

If they change the graphics and bring the controls up to snuff with today, that in and of itself would be a massive, massive change. The original Crash didn't even support dual analog.

Never played any of the Crash Bandicoot game so maybe this will be my first encounter with this franchise.

I'd love that. I don't trust them enough to make a new game.

Yea but its still a remaster... Which doesn't interest me one bit... Sure it will look more pretty but it doesn't change the fact that I will know how everything will go when I play it

I'll take a trilogy remaster over the deafening nothing from Activision.

Great but I don't... I would rather have a new game provided they give it enough attention or not a game at all since I don't have much cares for remasters

I think it is a smart move, I honestly don't think a new Crash game would do well in 2016

Guys, they chose the wrong word. It isn't remaster because "from the ground up" would legitimately make no sense. These are remakes built for the PS4, AKA using a modern game engine and redoing everything. Do you really think you can just remaster a freaking PS1 game at this point and produce anything anybody would care about? There is nothing you can do to PS1 graphics to make them look anything even remotely close to a modern PS4 game.

Its just PR probably.I dont think they would remake 3 games as new games each from zero just for it.Its going to be just a prettier game then the original.Otherwise they would have said it better. They would make a mistake like this.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Well won't you know the same for a remake as well? The story is the same, the locations are the same, the levels remain moderately the same. About what I expect from this as well.
