Having three SKUs would be nice. I would definitely buy the $299 version and then just hook up my 5TB external from my existing One.

Yep at that price it's DOA, unelss it has some kind of uprgrade not mentioned in the leak. 

If those guessed prices are right, then that's much better. But if it's more like $349 for the 500GB, $399 for the 1TB, and $449 for the 2TB, MS can kiss any significant boost goodbye.

Strange I so don't know where to put a guess at the price of this thing if it's real, I mean on one hand MS will not want to sell it at a loss, but looking at the costs of 4k players that aren't also a console... that would be hard to do at a price where it wouldn't be just DOA.

Interesting to see, also given that this has some form of hardware update I'm shocked no one has pointed out Phil Spincers comment about not wanting to have an Xbox 1.5 a while back.

So I'm guessing in his logic if you add in some things but take away others it still rounds off to Xbox one? Not sure that is how it works.

Buyers remorse confirmed in 1 hour and 6 mins, sorry Lewis man, sometimes people here have a point with advice :)

The XBox One S will not include a 4K BR Player. I will just be able to play 4K content, ie stream 4K video from like Netflix etc. The One S is really just a sliming down with the extra feature of a 4K compatible HDMI socket, thats all. Yes it will come with either a 1TB or 2TB HDD, but there is not extra grunt under the hood.

I fully expect there to be 3 main SKUs after the announcement.

1. Original XBox One 500Gb, $249
2. New Xbox One S 1TB, $299
3. New Xbox One S 2TB, $349

The current 1TB and Elite models will be discontinued immediately and the 500Gb model will discontinued in due course....maybe 6 months.

There is no point in incorporating a 4K BR Player in anything at this time. It's not like when DVD and BR came on the scene. 4K will be pushed more through streaming than physical media and there is no point in putting a $250-$300 player in a device that will be superceded by a brand new console next year. It would be a stupid and costly move.

If the costs are more than what I've stated above, then the One S is DOA.

If its still a Xbox One component wise (power) it cant cost more than a base PS4 model and expect to sell.
