And yes, the Wii still dominates. Please Nintendo, up production! 400k weeks all year would kill the competition.
You mean they're not killing the competition now? lol
Take a look at this graph. Sometimes they only just barely outsell both of them. I'd rather it outsell both of them combined, every week. And it has the ability to do that, it's just Nintendo currently isn't releasing enough to do that. Two more weeks and I think outselling both of them combined will be the norm. Also note how the other two barely jump at all, up or down. It's only the Wii that shows any jumps, and it's all supply.

If the PS3 was around the same price as a Wii, what would be the competion?
If the PS3 was the same price as the Wii, it wouldn't be the PS3. This has been discussed forever. It's like asking if the Wii were $600 at launch would it have done as well? NO. The hardware doesn't justify $600 to get. So it would have much better graphics (HD for instance). If the PS3 were $300, it wouldn't have the graphical power that the 360 has. Though, if the PS3 gets a price drop to $299 this year, I still think the Wii will outsell it.

As a counter point to the Vegas 2 issue, Vegas 1 was not a good port for the PS3 and that turned many ppl off. I've heard the situation is similar with Vegas 2, so I can't see this one game being the difference.
If FF13 came out for the PS2 tomorrow, do you really think it would boost sales through the roof? Everyone who has a PS2 that wants to play RPG's on the PS2 already own one, except for the many people that wait until prices are really low to get a PS2. I was merely pointing out that the 360 does have a whole bunch of FPS already, and a good amount of high profile ones, while the PS3 (though not lacking) doesn't have the sheer amount of them. So a FPS shooter game would give a boost to each, though I could see how the PS3 could get a bigger boost, even if the boost is only slightly larger than the 360s. And of course we can't take out the effect of other things, like blu-ray and the like. A combination of factors usually lead people to buy a system, so that could also be a cause. You can't really pinpoint one main reason why the PS3 had a bigger boost, since I'd expect it to be a number of reasons combined.

Both xbox and PS3 sold just as well as last week, increase on Wii is just increase upon itself, no effect on other consoles whatsoever.
It's pretty obvious people don't go and say " Well, now I have a Wii, there's no need to get that PS360 I was hoping to get".
Since the Wii (on high weeks) is selling more than the PS3/360 combined, it does seem many people are saying that. Also, in the long run, as the Wii continues to dominate, more and more games will be moved from the 360/PS3 to the Wii, especially those games that don't require higher resolutions and the like. Then it will start to have an effect. And take a look at this graph. The GameCube and Xbox had pretty level sales (besides what I believe is the Europe launch), yet the PS2 jumps like a crazy horse. I wouldn't say that people were saying "well I have a GC, no need to get a PS2 now," nor would I say that the PS2 selling better and "killing the competition" had no effect on the other two.
And that's all I have to say for now.
